N52B30 Vanos gear types

Hello everyone, I have been doing a maintenance on my car (e90 330i 2005) and I was checking the much discussed Vanos bolts. I was surprised that could not see them on back side of the gears. Are there more types of the VANOS gears also without the bolts? I have ones as in the pic below.

There is another thread started last week about this. There are two different styles of Vanos adjusters used on N52s. You have the early style. There was never a recall on your car and this is why. Realoem has the build dates listed for when the switch over happened (MY2008 cars I think).
