Post Your SULEV Warranty Success Stories

Not sure if this thread already exists but if not, I thought it'd be good idea for SULEV owners to post success stories on different warranty work that was honored as part of the 15 year / 150,000 mile SULEV warranty.

I was always under the impression it came down if you weren't able to pass emissions but I've seen postings here and there that cover anything from valve cover gasket leaks, to solenoids and ignition coils.

Please state

a) issue diagnosed
b) total cost of repair
c) if SULEV covered initially or you had to be reimbursed
d) if your dealer gave you a hard time
e) if BMW NA had to be involved

VCG & New coils covered. At first, I was going to pay the dealer for the VCG but I found it about the SULEV warranty and mentioned it to them. My service adviser had to ask his supervisor, I guess he never heard of it. Almost got the MAF sensor but the code didn't return.

C)Put $165 down for diagnosis.

D) Service advisor was on my side and got the work approved and done under SULEV warranty with Headers installed. He also reimbursed my diagnosis fee.

a) Had a slight leak from the exhaust side of the VCG and a tiny bit of oil in the Eccentric Shaft Sensor connector.
b) I signed a quote for the diagnostic fee, but was told it would be waived if they did in fact find the issue I brought it in for. Ended up being $0.00
c) I first called the dealership and spoke with a service adviser and asked if it would be covered. I mentioned that there was a bit of oil in the connector but I didn't have any codes or issues and asked if it could still be covered. He spoke with the service manager and said it should be covered.
d) No problems at all. The tech came out to talk to me afterwards and mentioned that he saw some damage on the ignition coils. I found that the insulation was torn on a couple of them when I'd removed them to change my spark plugs...I had repaired the insulation but you could still see that there was damage. He said that they would also be covered under the warranty and that I should bring it back as soon as I had any problems with them.
e) No.

What does it mean cause I'm confused now. So if my car is 2007 N52 without warranty it still has a warranty till 150000 miles or 15 years for valve cover gaskets , solenoids and ignition coils because it's N52 SULEV warranty ??

Yes, it's covered. Your dealer might not be aware of the warranty so you might have some trouble getting them to cover it, but it is covered.

Got a 2011 328i Here 63,000 Miles Located In CT
Car is in the shop as we speak getting fixed under SULEV Warranty for P1017 Code
Eccentric Shaft Sensor.

Brought the warranty paperwork with me, Gave me a bit of a hard time, seems they were kind of oblivious about it. Called me after diagnosing the car told me it would be fixed under warranty.
