I purchased the remote start functionality. It was downloaded to my car the other night. So far I really like it. Didn’t think I needed this feature, but now I am seeing the benefit.

lol I used to think it was a “useless feature” that I would never need or use. But it came configured on my car and I use it all the time. I expect it to be especially useful for cooling the car in the summer.

I received a notification in my BMW app on my phone that I could purchase remote start. I clicked the link in the notification and it took me to another page where I was able to select the service. After I made payment, it was pushed to me OTA.

You also got to the “connected drive store” in the My BMW app or in idrive and select the service you want to purchase.

I suspect you can only purchase services for which you have the hardware in place.

Use it daily. Set a time to start M-F! Love it!

As a daily driver, I couldn't see myself without the remote start. Scheduling the warm up in the app to and from work is so useful especially when it snows.

No and you get it for lifetime, I’m pretty sure.

One of my favourite features. I use it every day. Amazing for Melbournes hot summers and cold winters.

Just remember that after an idrive software upgrade you will have to go into the car settings to re-enable the remote start feature. This will be evident when in the app you won’t see the remote start feature anymore.
