How does Audi manage to figure it out and we can't?
The only thing they have figured out is understeer and what parts to source from Volkswagen to maximize profits.

This would kill the m4, no? Same exact chassis. The m3 is still your sedan option.

If they make the new M2 in an xDrive config I'll sell the G80 and use it as a true weekend warrior.

They exist in a different system that you don’t have access to.

The demand for an M2 with G8x-level M xDrive will be significant. It will outsell the RWD-only model.

Interesting discussion topic here. This makes the anticipation of the production G87 M2 even more exciting. Only time will tell the direction the M division is going with this new M2.

Not if it only comes in auto.

Have you driven an RS3 lately? Incredibly fast, but no soul, and not a lot of fun. Is that what we want from the M2?

the audi is a front wheel drive car while the BMW is a rear wheel drive one. it'll still be superior to the audi.

and then why anyone would care if the G87 is offered with xdive as an option? just don't tick the box.

I meant in terms of terms of weight. The car never did anything for me.

That being said, I'm sure there's plenty of RS3 owners that find it quite fun.

Because some of us want more space
And a big grille 😁

I'd consider swapping my incoming, soon to arrive M4C xDrive for an M2C AWD version, however, one of the main reasons for jumping on the M4 and not M3 was ID7 and the traditional binnacle and not the ID8 and Dual screen "upgrade" that will come with the G87.

No, and dropping 400lb of fat would go a long way to helping the G87 feel even better.

The F22/F87 was fat enough, the extra weight that the G42/G87 has put on is just ridiculous.

The RS3 is all wheel drive. It only comes that way.

The F87 was arguably too heavy. This thing will be marginally lighter than the G82.

Imagine how hard on tyres and brakes this will be if using it on track.

I was at a trackday when Joe Achilles was there in a G80 M3 and the brake pads were destroyed within two hours.
