Does Idrive 7's Digital Cluster do anything similar to this?

Saw this on Reddit about Idrive 8, just wondering if Idrive 7 has any similar functionality as this looks very cool

Yes, this isn’t new. People just need to update their cars. iDrive 7 has had this for a while as long as you’re on the right update. Only caveat is it only works with Apple Maps (that’s probably a CarPlay limitation)

Sorry just to get this correct, it'll show up just like that on the instrument cluster?

It also shows directions in the Head up display for Android Auto, Carplay (Waze, Maps, etc)

I mean I didn’t side by side it. The map in the instrument cluster is pretty useless anyway, especially if you have the HUD. It definitely shows up on the HUD.

With iDrive 7 you only get Turn by Turn notifications in the instrument cluster. Not the full map like in iDrive 8.

On iPhone it only displays the turn by turn instructions on the HUD when using Apple Maps. Does not work with Google Maps.
