Software update!

I took my car in for a windshield replacement and for a parking sensor replacement. Obliterated my windshield 18 hours after delivery and got a rock chip in a parking sensor on the way home from a long road trip.

My car had a hard time relearning the parking sensor with the KAFAS and a forced software update was performed with the assistance of BMW tech line. The great news for some is that it changed the font of the instrument cluster and added the M240i logo in the middle.

Now I can finally enjoy my car without a cracked windshield.

Well well well. Would you look at that. Is this intended to be a software update for the masses? I'm assuming eventually OTA update?

This was NOT an OTA update. My car was at the dealer for the two repairs mentioned above. My car would not allow the new parking sensor to program it, so BMW had to have the tech line force an update to the car.

I’m unsure if this update is available OTA.

Yeah yeah gauge logo is neat but my question is… how the hell did you get a new windshield?! Dealer told me they couldn’t even order it

I’m picking up mine in a couple weeks and will share if the dashboard has the new logo. By the way, it looks like they updated the font to match the M340 as well.

Does this always show up for you now while driving? I personally don't like this, I know what car I'm driving so I really hope I can turn this off, it's just not needed to me.

and to anyone saying deal with it, I've had my '22 m240 for 6 months as of tomorrow. I have been plenty fine without it and have no interest in them adding it at least on my car.

I prefer to have it. Constantly reminds you how much you spent on an m performance car vs a regular series car.

Seconded. Would love to have it as my friends 440 has it, which makes me feel like 240 is some how not the same league as 440 lol

It was ordered February 9th, 18 hours after delivery. A trash truck lost something and it smashed my windshield.

They should be able to order it if they’re persistent enough.

No clue. The dealer did this when they couldn’t get the car to accept the new parking sensor.

I'm just wondering if the one that the OP got is a not-yet released one...

We could know it with the numbering version...
