I remember reading that they where. I just checked now to confirm and I can’t find anything about the display tech anywhere. Everything just mentions the size of the screens.

I think just like you prefer the look of iDrive8, Bandit prefers the look of iDrive7. He actually owns the M240i with the iDrive8. It's a matter of preference. Chill.

Just think in 20 years if we still running around with gas cars you can just snap the ID8 screen off the dash and slap a holley digital dash and efi standalone in its place and still look fully stock. Future classic thanks bmw.

Really dude? There are like 800 pages bashing the new M2.Isn’t that just a matter of preference? A vast majority of posts on this forum or any forum for that matter are people discussing thier opinions and preferences. There have been a ton of posts bashing ID8 are those just a matter of preference? Seems people only take issue when I defend it. Interesting.

Oh boy...Let's address this absurdity angle that you are taking.

Of course, it's perfectly ok to have and to state your opinion. He stated his opinion about iDrive8 that he has in his M240i to which you replied with "Man, people love to complain." See the difference? You didn't just state your opinion, you took a dig at his. That's why I replied with "Chill". Not to mention that you tried to somehow upsell iDrive8's screens by claiming that they are OLED (which they are not). Not that it would matter since as per his post, he prefers the non "iPad" look so the type of panel wouldn't make a lick of a difference.

I know that people like to bash on the forums, whether it's M2, screens, ambient lighting, etc. but you didn't bash the tech. You bashed him by adding your "people like to complain" to his opinion on his own tech.

I went to an exotics event in NJ yesterday or I would have been there. I try to go to as many events as I can because I'm usually the only G42 at any of them.

Ironically there was a purple 230 at the event yesterday.

Things are looking up yesterday at the monthly bmw cars and coffee get this 3 g42s. Mine a bsm 240 and a bsm 230. I also saw a zb g87 running around here. Better days are coming hopefully mod wise with more cars on the road. Any of you in the ATL area looking for local meet info shoot me a message.

Spotted in the wild for only the 2nd time!

Westbound on NH-101, had the triangular front intakes so it was either a M240 or a 230 with the M-Sport package, Alpine white. I was headed eastbound so I didn't get a good look other than excitedly pointing it out to my fiancée in the passenger seat LOL.

Bonus - on Friday I was on I-95 S and a G20 M340 pulled up beside me and gave me a big thumbs up, checked out the car. Zoomed off after cruising along side for 2-3 miles. I imagine it was the first time he'd seen a G42 in the wild

I'm part of a group called Long Island Bimmer. They have really crazy meets regularly. I have the only G42, but it would be cool to see another in our group! For reference the WhatsApp group has over 600 members.

Saw a black G42 parked at the side Wegmans in Parsippany NJ today. I wasn't driving my 230 M sport, or I would have parked next to it. I only saw it from the front, so I'm not sure if it was a 230 or a 240, but it was black with black wheels.
Looked sharp.

Saw a BG 230 or 240 in Toronto the other day looking real nice. Didn’t pass close enough to get more detail nor was I in my 240 for this road trip.
