Rear uprights

Posted this in the general section recently in the hope of getting a reply. Maybe I'll have more luck here?...

Anyone got LCI rear wheel carriers (uprights) left over from swapping to pre-LCI?

I'm in the UK.

My pre-LCI e91 330d (FG89708) currently has 33326774807/33326774808 uprights, which I'm apparently give a narrower rear track than their LCI equivalents by about 6mm/side.

The LCI parts I'm looking for are 33326783667/33326783668 uprights and 33416783671 drive flanges, found on 320-335d and 325-335i e90 LCI, or all (316-335d and 316-335i) e91 LCI.

The uprights seem pretty hard to identify from their markings - they only seem to have a basic part number in the casting, not the full part number - so basically I need to know what car they came off to properly identify them.

If anyone has a set they're looking to part with, please let me know!

Reason I'm looking to change is aesthetic, and replacing a couple of ball joints and the wheel bearings at the same time.

They can't all be the same 316-335 surely as the handbrake shoes change in size

A good point. The 330d parts are used on the lower models if they have S100A - usable load increase. So it's even more of a shit show to find the right parts than my original post would suggest!

If you want to improve the stance/track why not use spacers?

Costs extra on the insurance, and the spacers aren't free either. But mainly because I don't like spacers...they're just not proper.

15mm rear spacers on my pre-LCI below. If you're right about having to inform your insurer about spacers, you will deffo have to do so if you alter the track using a different carrier.

Was thinking of 12mm when I was looking at spacers. 15 looks a bit flush for me, personally. I doubt I'll go for them, either way.

Thing is with wheel spacers - they're a definite non-factory add on part, easy to spot for anyone who's looking. With uprights from a later model they're very difficult to spot, even if you're looking for them! Also no extra parts, no extended wheel bolts, etc. It sits better with me, and I think them from an insurance company would probably agree.

As far as things go so far with the insurance, they know my car has "modified steering and suspension" which covers aftermarket shocks/struts, non-standard (but still BMW e9x) springs, camber plates, a handful of M3 arms and bushings, a handful of ball joints in the rear. I asked them about wheel spacers and they said £30 for the 9mo ish that I have left to run on my insurance this year. That plus the purchase price of decent spacers and bolts is too much for me!
