2008 328i 6-CD Changer help
Does anyone have any recommendations for a 6-CD Changer? Anything I should know? I'm trying to go OEM, but someone said I should just do aftermarket. I'm still trying to do OEM but on BMW's parts direct website a few of their items have been discontinued. The description says "CD Changer Install Kit and Trunk Trim Panel also required" so I'm not really sure what to do. I love this car, but in some ways I feel like I'm in a bit of a pickle when it comes to this stuff given its age.
I dunno if this is the right section of the forums but any help is appreciated. |

the wiring for cd-changer is hidden under left trunk trim and you also need to rewire cd-changer most circuit in the most circuit concentrator to enable MOST communication to changer you need only get cd-changer with bracket, left trunk trim for cd-changer , install and connect it, add fuse, and code headunit for cd-changer

You can't go aftermarket because the cd changer interface use the BMW optical Bus called the Most Bus .
As pointed out CD changer are not really a thing anymore. If you want something that will give you usb sd card music plus bluetooth music and telephone the Mr12Volt adapter is the best way to go if you want to maintain audio quality because it uses the Fiberoptic bus You have to have a BMW changer if go with the CD as no others will interface with Stock Car Radio or Idrive . At this point in time CD changers are stupid. Also you would need the CD changer function enabled in the Radio for it to work and this requires some simple programming There is a stereo sub forum here https://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=27 Last edited by ctuna; 09-28-2024 at 02:53 AM.. |
