Brake Pad Choices BMW E90
Has anyone tried the new StopTech Street Select or the R1Concepts Optimum OEp series brake pads? I've got a brake job coming due soon and am curious about both of these two options.
https://www.carid.com/stoptech/stree...305-12600.html https://www.r1concepts.com/brake_pads I've tried the Akebono brake pads before but they tend to make a little clunk as you go forward to reverse and vice versa, plus I just don't think they have very good brake bite/feel. The dust on them was amazingly low though. The Cool Carbons I currently have installed offer great braking feel but are noisier than OEM even when installed with brake disc quiet and they are really quite expensive. They give off a bit more dust than I'd like but the pedal feel I think is perfect - a bit more control rather than the on/off feeling of the OE pads. |

I was going to suggest Cool Carbons. I just switched to them from Hawk HPS 5.0 and the difference is amazing. For me the Hawks dusted like crazy and I felt they had a bit of a dead feeling.

I think I'm going to just go with Beck Arnley sourced Zimmermann and Textar OE pads for everything. The pricing on Amazon is pretty good for these parts.

Best is simply oem rotors and pads for the daily driver.
