Help!!!! Manual swap coding
Hey guys,
I’ve recently just done a manual swap on my 2007 335i. I’ve carried out the coding via Protool, and have deleted the $205, however I still have communication codes stored and the car makes no boost. I have the clutch switch disabled so it starts without the clutch switch as I don’t have one yet, I also have the CAN lines looped. Can anyone help? Have I missed something? Note that the codes are the same when the cars “auto” or “manual” in the DME. |

you need to reflash DME software with the version supporting automatic gearbox

The car shouldn't be looking for the EGS since it came out with the trans and you have the can wires looped correctly. Have you watched the Vehicular DIY youtube videos on his swap? He's very detailed plus there is a couple detailed posts on this site. Protools I think has a DIY on their FB page. You factory coded all the modules using protools right? Cluster, DSC, CAS etc...from your post. Wondering if you missed something though. You shouldn't need BMW standard tools to do this if you have protools.

The car was manual from the factory but the previous owner changed the dme and they put one from an auto. I want to know if there is anything I can do to remove the egs signal from the dme. The dme already has the vin from my car on it

You need to load MSD80.prg and run a job called "ecu_config_reset" with this string "1;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0 ;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;0;1;0;0" pasted into the argument box. I've attached a screencap of this job and the argument being run successfully on a DME. This would also be possible from ProTools by running the same job and argument. There might also be another way to run this inside ISTA or INPA but I personally prefer Tool32 for it's speed and simplicity. |
