Interesting.. On the US configurator, it looks like red calipers are only included with the M Performance shadowline (black) package. Even with the ZTK package and $300 extended shadowline option, the calipers are still blue. Unless you special request at the dealership, it looks like the red calipers are no longer offered with the standard M Performance (grey) trim.

Talking about these trim packages can be confusing since there are now two separate shadowline packages offered for MY23. One is $300 and includes exterior accenting. The other shadowline package is found under the "Design" tab, costs $400, and includes the same gloss black trim with the red brake calipers.

Yep. Bit of a bummer. Packages changed in Canada as well and I was forced into Red. I like both but slightly prefer the blue. Oh well.

Tacora Red with Thundernight Metallic

So, based on what the pricing guide shows, you cannot order Thundernight Metallic with Tacora Red interior.

Had my heart set on that personally (had to switch to black leather with the blue stitching and ZTK), and online you can still configure a 2023 MY M240iXdrive in that color combo. Also shows the blue brakes which I wanted. The blue does seem to stay if you configure using non shadowline design, and then adding the extended shadowline. However if you configure it initially with the shadowline exterior vs cerium, it will go to the red calipers.

Why is it able to be built like that, but not configured using the pricing and ordering guide?

I believe the No Thundernight/Tacora rule has been deleted in the latest version of the ordering guide seen here. You should be good.

Looks like this may confirm the the "M" colored seatbelts are a goner. Didn't see them on the Canadian order guide so we might be SOL in North America.

Here in Europe, it's been about 2 months (since the announcement of ID8) that it's been like this for the MY23.

M lights shadow line (with mandatory Adaptive LED headlights)
M seat belts
M sport brakes in red

are only available if you take the "M sport pack pro" which also includes M Shadow Line hochglänzend with additional elements

This pack automatically removes the blue brakes for the red ones

Yes! It was a welcome surprise when I was placing the order.

More money to spend on M Performance parts I guess

Thanks Salt!

I'm currently in status 112, can it still be adjusted? Just called my CA, and of course he seemed clueless as to them reversing the no MAG6 with C56. If I am reading it correctly it shows 06/27/2022 is when they reversed it, and allowed you to indeed have the MAG6/C56 combo again? Sorry if I seem clueless.

Yeah, I would definitely call again and ask about the 6/27 change while you still have time in 112! You can make changes as long as you're not 150. Good luck!

Re: ID7 vs ID8 debate:

Honestly, infotainment preferences are all relative. Nobody is wrong or right.
Personally, I like the idea of having newer tech in the car.

Yes, the removal of the climate control buttons is a bummer but when I am "pushing" the car, my focus will only be on the road and on the speed.
And when I am cruising, I will have most of the assistance features on, so climate controls features can be accessed from the infotainment screen easily and hopefully the buttons won't be missed.

I just don't get why he wouldn't take the initiative to at least just update me and say hey I know you didn't want the 2023, and I know you didn't want the black interior, BUT you CAN have the RED interior again! And give me a little joy as i've been patiently waiting for over 4 months now.

Fingers crossed we still get the belts… I have the m sport pro package and m enhanced track package in Canada on order with my 23 but the belts are NOT mentioned in the order guide for either package.

The Canada configurator is in a weird place… seems like it is half done lol.

On the main menu it shows $56,950 starting and is MY 22. The 23 is starting at $58,950 and the packages are different. The current packages on the configurator are still the MY22 options/packages.

On the actual configurator 360 view it shows idrive 8 with the widescreen display but with aluminum tetragon, not aluminum Rhombicle that actually comes with MY23. It also shows the belts on the 360. My guess is that it will be updated soon.

Oh yes, that'll pay for most of the rear spoiler installed at the port

Nope. Many of us did not want ID8. I think the only option I would choose from 23 over 22 is the rhombus interior trim instead of the 22's aluminum.
Agree. Do not want 23 model. I'll take a 22. But thinking of backing out of my order and going with audi RS3 now. On the fence. Not thrilled with the changes on the 23 model

IMO the M Performance rear spoiler transforms the back end.
