Aftermarket wheels?

Anyone going to swap out their OEM wheels for something aftermarket right away?

I have always liked the 763M wheels in gold. Its crazy because I have always liked black wheels but for some reason those wheels in gold are pretty sweet. They are a pretty penny though.

Good question.

On my F87, I swapped out the OEM wheels for BMW 763s. Lighter and better looking.

With the G87, I guess it depends how the stock wheels look with the car when all the camo is removed. And how light they are.

Sorry for the ignorant question but are they considered an M performance part? Do you just order them straight from BMW?

BMW has done a great job with wheel design lately, so no I don't plan on it. May never if they look like the 825m/826m wheels off the G80. Tough to shell out thousands for heavier wheels.

They are but you don't have to order them from BMW, you can get them from getbmwparts or any other BMW part shop. The M2's 763's do not fit on the new M240i because of a different bolt pattern for the G42 (5x112 now). That being said, the 20" version meant for the 8 series does fit. I was planning on doing the Gold 763's as well on my incoming TN, here's the mockup I made!

I would actually say they've had the best wheel designers for years; better than Merc, Audi, Porsche, etc. Gawd dang it, I bet I just jinxed it and some grille design team ahole will be assigned to lead the direction of their wheel designs.

Yeah, living in Pittsburgh, I would like to get a winter set so I can drive it year round. Though I would like that winter set to look sweet!

As a fellow Pittsburgh resident, I also will be looking for a second set of wheels for the winter. I was hoping my second set from my 17 M2 would work but BMW went and changed the bolt pattern for the G series.

Ditto here, will get a dedicated set of winter wheels. Won't be getting OEM wheels though. Will get aftermarket flow formed wheels which cost less $$$, have better wheel offsets and a wider selection of styles. The M wheels that come on the car which are forged will be dedicated summer wheels.

I was just on APEX's website. They have some nice flow formed wheels there.

The forged VS 5RS wheels...whoa!

Cleaning lady says stock G87 19/20" rims are cast, not forged... if the current draft documents she's allegedly seen turn out to be right, it is going to be a big disappointment.

She should stick to cleaning supplies. They are forged.

Then glad someone at BMW was drunk. Didn't look into it further than that. Also would've made not much sense as G8x wheels are all forged. M5 does have a few cast wheels.

You need wider (at least 11 inches) aftermarket wheels to run 305 square

Titan7, Apex...etc will def come up with suitable width and offsets after the car has been released

Seeing how much room there is at the front on stock size 275, a 305 bolt on setup is finally a possibility

For a start, Nankang CR-S, Toyo R888R, Trofeo R, Cup 2 Connect, Goodyear F1 Supersport R, Yokohama AD08R all have 305/30 19...

Those 20s going to be the first thing to swap out…heavy and lack of track tyre sizes and can’t run a square setup

The BMW engineers said they used softer springs and dampers in the rear (same setup as the M3 Touring) instead of the stiffer setup of the G80/2. I'd be worried putting 19's in the rear, might make the rear end squirrelly.
