Oh man, I'm loving every minute with it! It's so hard not to mash the pedal to ground😆 1200 miles can't come soon enough. Be patient...It'll will definitely be worth the wait.

Should be taking delivery of mine over the next few days! That break-in period is going to require more than just patience . Can't wait.

I'm always curious if services gives the pedal a nice mash before we even pick up the car I believe a road test is part of their check-in process once it hits the dealership. Hoping they don't, but who knows!

Looking at an old article from the late 2000's, it looks like the fastest a priority one car could move through the VDC was 2 days. I don't know how this has increased or decreased since BMW has grown since then or how COVID impacted their work force and quality check process but hopefully the 2 days remains true to this day!

TBH I think it's a moot point, they are scrambling to process these cars as fast as they can and they dont always get updated/scanned appropriately. A conversation with a genius I had reinforced this a few weeks ago and experienced it myself when my car went from "Ready for transport" to "At the port (in the US)" in just a matter of hours.

Oh for sure, I was/am the same way! haha

After 3 weeks at port I heard my car was loaded on a truck to Denver yesterday. Hopefully Ill take delivery by Wednesday!

I wish I kept better track of dates but for those wondering that makes just about 3 months 1 week from order to delivery assuming no more hiccups (knocking on wood!).

Timeline
Order / Build: 11/2021
Allocation: 01/2022
- was supposed to be a mid-March build date but due an issue production was moved to week 26.
Build Start / 150 Status: June 27th
- Production Begins: 06/27
- ASSEMBLY IN PROGRESS: 6/27
- Paint Booth: 6/28
- Assembly Line: 6/30
- Assembly in Progress: 06/30

After reading this thread it appears that most of you all are in the same boat, so I was just curious as to your ideas as to why I'm stuck on "ASSEMBLY IN PROGRESS" status for almost a week?

Thanks!
Update as of 7/11 my vehicle is still in "Assembly in Progress" status, so I called BMW Genius and was informed that they are waiting for a part for my vehicle?

I dont think they publish future schedules for the public, at least from what I've seen. According to Vesselfinder it arrived in Freeport Jul 11, 11:53 UTC

I've been able to find scheduled for other ships, it just figures the only one I can't find is the one my car is on.

There is a website for the shipper, but it's all in Korean and I can't figure it out haha.

I'm scheduled to be completed tomorrow so I called Genius to see where I might be sitting exactly. They told me I'm still showing simply as production begins but also still showing that I should be completed tomorrow. Said it's common at this plant for cars to skip through multiple steps without incremental updates.

Dropped my dealer a visit on Saturday and he showed no updates in his system as of then. He also said it could be 1-5 days to process at the port and would call me as soon as it is assigned a carrier to the dealership - he's hoping on the sooner side. Called Genius just now too, still shows Veracruz departure date from a couple weeks ago.

I found this port call calendar.

https://vop.2wglobal.com/schvop/ctrl...&name=veracruz

No idea how accurate it may or may not be, but it does show my anticipated ship. FWIW it is now delayed another 5 days from Veracruz, which may be good for me as I am now at 19 days in Final Assembly and counting.

Is anyone else on the Glovis Spirit scheduled to get off at BALPOA? I keep seeing talks of it going straight to NJ but my car is on the ship and supposed to be stopping in Baltimore

That’s good to know! I was expecting 2-3 days to make it to the dealer,at this point we are all super close. The ship left last night and headed to Rhode Island,so they def off loaded our cars lol

If I hear anything from my dealer, I’ll post it up. I’m guessing each dealer will transport at a different date.

Please let me know if my constant posting gets annoying, but I just talked to a truck driver who was dropping off a shipment of 4 series (with a Verde Mantis M3 comp on the top of the truck!), and he told me that he had picked up this shipment on friday and parked his truck for the weekend, and that over the weekend his dispatcher had called him to let him know that there is another shipment ready for pickup at the port in NJ. From when he left the port, it took him about 5 hours to reach my dealership.

So hopefully our cars are on this next shipment coming out!

Since being dropped off on Saturday, I just checked my status and it changed to at the port so it's moving along. Let me know if yours updated!
