Car has been stuck in ready to transport for 4 weeks now. I checked the recall site and it says my car has no issues and genius says they are just waiting for a vessel.

Ordered this in September 🤦🏽*♂️

Let me know if you hear anything about it clearing the VPC. It's literally 100 miles away I wish I could just go over there and take it

I checked the Wallenius website and it looks like the next ship named Honor isn't scheduled to leave Altamira until Jan 31st.
Brunswick on Feb4th
Charleston on Feb5th
Baltimore on Feb7th

My car is in final assembly and I am hoping it gets on this ship as well.

Interesting. Looks like I won't be seeing my car until February, my expected delivery was December.

I kind of regret not ordering an M3/M4 when I ordered this

The agonizing wait and daily checking on the vehicle status feels like ground hog day over and over again.

Production began 1/5
Entering assembly line 1/14

I checked the vin recall tool and it looks like there is no open issues with the RAM for my VIN (not sure if it takes a while to update the database). Dealer also confirmed that he wasn't seeing any deletions from my order thus far.

I found this article from 2009 that has links to shipping schedules. My car will be leaving Veracruz and going to Baltimore, I found a scheduled transport leaving Veracruz 1/24 arriving Baltimore 2/6 on Wallenius Wilhemsen shipping.

Not sure how accurate this is, the article below has quite a bit of information, but some is outdated since it's from 2009.

If I am not mistaken, BMW uses the Altamira port to ship from in MX. Didn't think they were using Veracruz port to ship vehicles from.

Jan 31st is the earliest date from Altamira on their website for the vessel "Tosca" arriving in Baltimore on Feb 6th. (no stop in Charleston)

Vessel "Honor" is scheduled to leave Altamira on Feb 1st and reach Baltimore on Feb 8th (hoping my car is on this since it is bound to Charleston POA)

I found a BMW press release on the Mexico plant that listed Veracruz as the port for US east coast shipments. I was surprised since it seems pretty far from the factory.

Looks like you are right. There have been instances of shipping cars from Veracruz from reading through the G20 forums.

Here's the quote from an article in automotive logistics;

https://www.automotivelogistics.medi...icle?adredir=1

"Located in central Mexico and about 400km north of the capital city, San Luis Potosí has access to the ports of Lázaro Cárdenas on the west coast and Veracruz on the east coast for moving components and exporting finished vehicles. There are also road and rail links to the the US and Canada. "

Thanks for the link.

Interestingly, enough the ship Tosca is departing Veracruz on Jan24th going to Galveston,TX and coming back to Altamira on Jan30th before it sets sail to the east coast.

I was thinking the same thing. Vera Cruz looks like a much further trip from the plant in San Luis Potosi also.

Hello!

Hello everyone! I joined this forum to get some therapy. Since December 3rd, the production of my G42 has grinded to a halt.

My car reached "Quality Check" status around mid-November.
Then around Dec 3rd it finally moved to "Final Assembly".
And then around Dec 28th it finally moved to "Ready For Transport" status...where it has been teasing me the last 3 weeks.

The wait is unbearable and my salesrep has very little information when it's going to ship.

I live in Austin. So from reading this thread, it appears there's a chance my car will ship on the 24th to Galveston. If that's the case, I hope so. I'm getting so frustrated from waiting I want to give up. But there's nothing else I want to get so will have to continue to wait.

Have all of you whose cars have been delayed verified if your cars have been waiting on installation of the RAM.

Just plug in the VIN in the link below and it should show if the car is waiting on any pending parts and/or repairs

Just checked and mine is now listed as waiting on RAM. I checked it a couple weeks ago before it reached the VPC and it was not listed as waiting for RAM. Last time I talked to BMW Genius they said all was fine...no deletions or holdups....ditto CA when I specifically asked about this. Was really hoping for delivery by early next week at the latest !!
