Wish they’d just throw one into the auto show.

Possibly the M Tour 2023? It has not been held in awhile due to Covid.

I stopped going to the Chicago Auto Show years ago. BMW hasn't shown anything worth going there for years. It's irrelevant unless you're looking for trucks, SUVs, family cars, etc. I do however miss the old days; I remember going to see the 1M as well as the F87 M2 back when they actual had cool stuff.

Last year wasn’t so bad. They had an iX and a G80 with cf buckets you could sit in. From what I’ve been told they put a good amount of money into it this year.

I guess that's reassuring. I haven't bothered to check in a while. Last time I went they only had five cars, and all were base models. IIRC one year they didn't even show up and that was pre-pandemic.

I hope the UDE event has improved since the last time I attended one. For those considering driving several hours to attend, it is not worth the trip. Local sure!

One should never expect much for something that is free.

Few weeks too late... but not sure if anyone did get to the Chicago Auto Show. BMW's line up was sad this year. If i remember correctly, they had 6 vehicles packed into a VERY small area. Lots of people crowded together. 80% of the reason I went this year was to see if MAYBE they would have had an M2. Was quite dissapointed. Also, Porsche, MB, and Volvo were not in attendance. I wanted to look at the Volvo XC90 recharge.

Fairly sure Octagon uses cars provided by BMW NA for these events. Job description includes "assisting with the transport of the vehicle fleet". Most or all dates after G87 launch.

In the past they have physically driven the M Tour vehicles from location to location.

M Tour vehicles belong to NA. Typically they are all registered to BMW NA HQ, New Jersey vehicle registration and tags.

College age kids usually do it. The pay is not earth shattering.
