The Good: 1) The summer of 2021, they were willing to write into my deal on an X3 M40I that I would get first spot for G87 at MSRP.
2) Since then, my CA has always been responsive and assured me that they are holding up their end of that deal.
3) Recently, my CA set for me to see their TR X5M to help me ensure I would like that color. He and the sales manager continued to assure me that I am first and they're looking forward to when we can place an order.

The Bad: Nothing yet, TBD.

The Ugly: Nothing yet, TBD.

For me, this is still great.

But a guy that just PMed me on Facebook says they're saying 5K ADM now. That's new to me and I did not confirm myself.

There's at least one other bimmerpost person on their list, maybe they can chime in.

I just know that I'm MSRP, don't know if that has to do with my deal or not.

This is why I don't trust dealers, even when it's in writing and signed off by the sales manager. I've said this many times in other threads, but a deal is only as good as the two parties involved. If one of them, the dealer in this case, doesn't fulfil their obligation then the whole deal falls apart.

When I ordered my last bimmer (not the F87) I too had everything in writing, signed by sales manager, etc. When the car arrived, I went in to do the paperwork and they tried to tack on a bunch of dealer crap that added up to around $1.8k that I never asked for nor was on my contract. I told them that they're playing games and doing a bait and switch on me. None of this was in my contract, I'm ready to walk (and I really was) unless you fix this now. I even walked out of the office to show them I wasn't F'n around. In the end they caved in and said they "found the mistake and correct it". Yeah, OK. Sucks that it has to come to that sometimes.

Otto's BMW - Same story as above. No markups, refundable deposit until production. CA was pretty solid here as well

The "meh"

BMW of the Main Line - I was told there would be no ADM, but I have nothing in writing, no purchase order or contract drawn up, nor would they do that this early in the game. CA was pretty terrible in terms of communication and I had to hound them with follow ups making sure they got my build code when I sent it over. On the plus side, i guess, there was no deposit requirement. I don't think these guys move too many M models so I really don't have much hope, but I'm apparently #1 on the list here.
Re: "there would be no ADM"; personal experience on this one. They may have changed their position on this since then. I put in my deposit and agreed to a 5k ADM. I, in good faith, tried to negotiate it down but I think there is so much demand for the car that they can't budge. No matter, still want the car and if 20k ADMs are true, I understand. If I wasn't in a positive equity situation on my G80 I'd probably feel different.

Side note - wonder if we talked on the phone a few days ago during that #1 #2 mixup! Can't tell if it's you or if there are 3 people who've now been first on the list

The Good

South Shore BMW in MA

Put an order in Oct 2022. No deposit, no markup. My CA responses to all of my texts promptly.

Only caveat is in house financing only (which isn't a deal breaker for me).

I did buy my M340 from the same CA previously.

BMW financing is about as good as it gets right now.

Yea I'm not too worried about it (since refinance is also always an option). Just hoping they don't markup the rate on me, we'll see when the car comes in I guess.

Most dealers are marking up 1%. We are. If you don't want our rate at 6.1 then you can take a credit unions rate at 7.5 or provide your own financing. It isn't a big deal to us. We let our clients use whoever has the better rate or just pay cash.

They will also hold your approval for 90 days so they are a very good option right now if you can get a loan with the. USAA is also lower than BMW but they will only hold your approval for 60 DAYS. Both of these banks are exceptions to the rule and most people do not qualify to be a member.

Turns out, they're liars. Steer clear. Will tell you MSRP for a year and a half and then toss an ADM on it.

BMW of Buffalo
Went in this morning to get on the list. Said there were 6 people on it already. $1k deposit, refundable at any time. Said their dealership group never adds markup. You also could get allocation from their Rochester dealership if any extras become available. Good experience so far. I feel like smaller markets have their advantages sometimes. They had an X4M in the show room in Toronto Red. Looks great. It's the color I'll be ordering unless more come or Individual before my allocation.

Did the rep mention their 2023 allocation is expected to be 2-3 cars?

That’s my local dealer. Hit me up when you get it. Would love to see in person, maybe take me for a spin!

Yeah, I know it is not high volume. No worries, though. I can wait. My F22 is in perfect condition to hold me over until I get one. And if it's long enough, maybe Individual will be available.

The Good: Wyoming Valley BMW of NE PA. MSRP deal done in writing. When my previous deal fell apart, they reached out to me for their HEA car. I appreciated that.

The Ugly: BMW of Houston North.

They want $20k ADM plus $400 Tint for their HEA. Obviously they aren't getting that because the preceding email said

Quote:
"we will take the highest offer to secure it. As this one has rung the phone off the hook. Let me know your offer and I can let you know where we stand."
Seems they want to auction it to the highest bidder unless someone agrees to $20k ADM
