Here is the moronic thing down here...you park in a far isolated portion of a parking lot and go into a store. When you come out, and ut never fails, at least one car is parked next to you.

Yeah, that's happened to me a few times but it's been few and far between. I'm always like, this muthafugga...

Yup...when I see the car I want to put a nasty note on the window but as long as no dings, I figure best to let it be as I dont want to have any karma issues come back to bite me.

This piece right here is shaped completely differently and also covers the V-shaped support bracket(s) - so I wonder if this is part of the solution?

I'm guessing the bracing looks something like this to help "box in" the front end more.

If anything, all they're doing is giving their competitors space to come with their own offerings ahead of anything they plan to do and potentially getting those sales.

I mostly agree, but the reality is, there is only one competitor to the M2, Audi via their latest RS5, which is out and in high demand. Anything from Mercedes is purely a mediocre attempt.

Edit, I originally meant to type RS3, not RS5.

I thought the RS3 would be the closer competitor? O-60 in 3.3 and in the C&D lapped VIR 5 seconds quicker than the M240i. RS5 wouldn't be more M3 / M4 circle? Size wize too.

From what I've seen over the past 7yrs between the F87 and now G87 forums is that it really doesn't matter what other cars are actual competitors with the M2. I've seen potential M2 buyers bail out and get everything from an M3/4, an X3/4M as well as getting into any number of Audi and MB cars, crossovers and SUVs instead for one reason or another. Some have even gone domestic and gotten Cadillac's, Mustangs, Corvettes, etc.

A lot of choices available and as mentioned the last 7yrs or so you are not limited to a sports sedan if you want performance with your daily or soccer mom car.

I mean... an X3 M Competition... and SUV with a S58 with X-Drive that will rocket to 60 in 3.3? Actually head scratcher that they have no plans for an M2C or X-Drive when people are asking for it but they offer up an X3M Competition and no one asked for it.

M2 is in that spot that depending on spec... +10-15k more and you have many other choices and features.

If it was not for the difficulty of acquiring an allocation, even as an employee, I would prefer a manual P’car over a G87. Clearly the purchase price is significantly higher and truthfully I am uncertain that it is worth it for a car that will ever see its full potential on a track. One can only do so much legally on public roads so it basically comes down to stroking our egos.

You cannot realistically compare a midsize M SAV to what is the smallest M sports coupe. Clearly BMW’s marketing logic is if they do not fully scratch the itch with one product then they have got others. There are multiple options.

Back in and use your rear camera. I had 360 view on my 2008 ex35, so it's crazy it's not standard on a 2023 bmw though. I would have paid a lil more if it were an option. Never touched a single curb in that car and I think the 360 view was a decent help.

I'll survive without though.... I guess. (Definitely being sarcastic with the lil extra drama).

You can manually activate the 360 view before parking.

I'm surprised lumbar support and adaptive cruise control was not standard on a luxury brand. I know it's a baby BMW but still costing me over $50k and had to add those as options on my build.

They will probably make 360 a subscription service in future along with massage seat option

The RS5 is allegedly similar in size. Sure someone can pull the dimensions. It is of no importance to me, but it is a model we have G87 customers cross shop.

Size wise a Cayman might be the only competitor, but MSRP to MSRP, as well as engine to engine even makes a Cayman S non-competitive.

Edit, I originally meant to type RS3, not RS5. Brain fart.

They removed them when there was the supply issue all automakers were having. They still haven't added them back. Don't know if that's because they're still having supply issues or just trying to milk everyone's pocketbook. Probably the latter.

P.S. I can't believe you said the S word. We don't use that around here.

The G42 M240 had lumbar option for driver's seat only.

Tag is right again. It is annoying when car companies don’t reveal future versions of cars until it’s too late. You would think they would share some of their plans with past M2 buyers. Often times consumers lose interest in a car and buy something else. The G87 M2 is supposed to be in production until early 2029 so a special version has to come out to maximize profit.

FYI, partial logic of an LCI is to revitalize sales, “maximize profit.”

Lengths for 2023 models:

RS3 - 4.542m
M2 - 4.580m
RS5 - 4.783m
M4 - 4.794m

M2 is 2 finger widths longer than the RS3, a hand span shorter than the RS5, which is less than a little finger width shorter than an M4.

In the interview when asked about Comp or CS he is deliberately vague but he does say;
".... not in a time scale that is very close. Is there room for a Comp or CS, yes of course there is room"

After being asked about the Xdrive he is slightly less vague, and he does say;

"[ The Xdrive ]... Is a lifecycle ahead of us, which is quite long"

There's no firm "no" to either question which is positive. Reading between the lines it's possible to deduce that the LCI will likely bring a Comp with Xdrive.

But who knows, the only thing for sure right now is you can by a non-comp, non-CS, rwd fun machine in an auto or manual which is pretty cool!

Sure, that is pretty cool when you’re not driving on ice for 5 months. I am salivating for a BG automatic but get feelings of anxiety every time it snows knowing the honeymoon would be over with the rwd M2.
