I was thinking the same as well. But my local dealership service tech contact freaked me out about not using BMW * spec tires as he says it could mess up the xDrive transfer case, as has been talked about at length here.

I was considering upsizing them 1 notch width wise. Tiny bit more sidewall and a bit wider.

At any rate, the MPS AS4 are amazing tires. I had them on my GTI.

Thanks for sharing! Mine will be RWD, not sure if that changes the situation. This will be my first non FWD car, so I need to educate myself it seems!

Definitely changes things without xDrive being a factor.

Are you going to keep the factory wheels on?

Gotcha! Good to know that it might be easier in this case.
Yes, I’m planning to keep the factory wheels and only rotate tires if it’s possible.

RWD is definitely more forgiving than the xDrive cars. You don't need to be as concerned about the front/rear diameter ratios but overall heights compared to the stock setup can still matter.

Is it a staggered setup or square?

It’s a staggered setup. “Performance non-run flat tires”, 225 front & 255 rear

Has anybody found a good winter wheel and tire setup for use with the ZTK brakes? Winter is coming and it seems like all the usual online tire places I check with say they don't have any wheels that are verified to work with our cars.

So you're running 9.5" 19" (ET 25 or ET20?) wheels all around with 265/35R19 tires?

What wheels are you running?

All our wheels clear the G42 ZTK brakes and the 19x9s in particular would work well for a winter fitment with 245/40-19 or 255/35-19 tires front and rear.

Where is everyone ordering their Apex wheels from? I’ve had some V5-rs wheels on order for over a month now from ECS Tuning and they keep pushing my ship date back saying they are on backorder. I’ve talked to Apex directly and they say the wheels are in stock and don’t know what the problem is. Would cancel my order but I got them a lot cheaper from ECS than Apex directly and they won’t price match.

Currently have the ZTK wheels (8.5"/245 in front, 9.5"/255 in rear). Anybody swapped the front tires out for 255s to match the rear and get a square setup? Any issues with this? Seems like 255 should be able to fit on the 8.5" wheels, just wondering if there's any rubbing issues if the fronts get 10mm wider.

I'm running 255 fronts on 8.5" wheels with 265 rears on 9.5" wheels. Looks right, no issues.

Thanks for the info... I might swap out the OEM tires for 255s all around. I guess they will just look a little different with the way they sit on the wheel.

It looks normal. I wouldn't worry about it one bit running a 255 on an 8.5. Unless it's just the Continental sidewall profile that works I can't tell any difference to stock sidewall bulge
