In the SLP M2 "kickoff" photos above, it blows me away how different the same TR M2 looks from the sunlit to the shaded side. That could be how the camera captures it vs. the human eye though. Anyway, I was teetering from BG to TR, but then saw a TR X3M at my dealer (a different dealer than the photo above), and I shied away. Like I said before, think of a perfectly ripe tomato that has the shiny gold-ish patina on the red. It's a lot on an X3, I thought. It will probably end up looking really sweet on an M2, but I'm too chicken. I'm sticking with the subdued BG and I'm ok with that. |

I know it's 'controversial' but man I love the rear 3/4 on this car, the way the fender continues past the rear wheel and the body line swoops under the taillight is . I also really like how the triangular 'pop-out' folds in at the bottom. So many of these little design elements bring together just how damn wide and aggressive it is. Also good to see more pics of the TR + bi-color rim combo, it works really well.

Nice find!
Sadly, they are not on the way to the US or the EU as auto train cars are used to transport vehicles to the port to be loaded upon ships. Quote:

I wonder where these are going, the m240i (or 230?) doesn't have a badge which leads me to believe it's going to a European country where you can option it that way.

That's cool you can do that. I'm not a huge fan of no badges but having the factory option is nice

I just noticed it does not have the carbon fiber roof and it looks pretty good without it. Is this the first one we have seen sans the CF roof? I think so.

It was crazy the amount of de-badged cars I saw in Germany, much prefer the culture of de-badging to up-badging lol

A recent photo that BMW M has posted on their FB account. Please let me know if it has been previously posted as I will remove it in the event that it has.

This is TR on an X5M about 930am, a little sunny, some clouds and shadows. Took 4 corners. As TUD mentioned in another thread, it's a big dose of TR on the X5M so keep that in mind. Taken on a Pixel 7.
I still think it's the color I'm going with, but I was underwhelmed seeing it in person. Just doesn't grab me immediately like LBB did on the OG M2.

Did you ever see LBB on the F85/86 X5M/X6M? It was a fairly large dose of LBB, but it did work well on the OG F87. Last edited by T_U_D; 02-04-2023 at 09:57 PM.. |

These flash colors are simply "too much" on such large cars, but they work well on small ones. It would not be my choice anyway, but I look forward to seeing TR in person on the M2. |

What have you decided about the carbon fiber roof? Are you going to keep it on your build or remove it? |

I'm keeping it. After much wrangling in my head, a true first world problem, I reflected a lot on the fact that I did NOT like the sunroof in my F87 and decided I'd regret getting one again. I still hate that I'm forced to pay 2600 to NOT have a sunroof, though. I intend on getting some of that back in free goodies from the dealer.

The transporter picture helped and perhaps a sign. We will have a TNM 230i and the TR M2 on the drive |

And for those who think it's too orange, this pic taken at BMW Welt shows what TR looks like versus true orange (which is the outside wrap). |

Agreed. The color on the backside of the hood and in the engine bay is TR. |

Which brings up another good point, with the quality wraps today you can non permanently color change your car to your hearts desire.
