Most beautiful automobile
Related to the "Cool pics - vehicles" thread but more focused, name one -- and only one -- car that you consider to be the best-looking auto of all time. Price, performance, reliability -- none of that matters. Just the most beautiful.
My choice: Early/mid 1960s Jaguar E type (XK-E) roadster

I don't know if I would call it the most beautiful but the '63 split window vette has always been a favorite of mine.

A friend of my pops was delivering one of these to a guy in Houston when I was a kid. On the way he stopped by to visit us at our apartment in Beaumont. My jaw hit the pavement, I'd never seen anything like it in my life. The lines, the color, the stance, then the theater of that 351 Cleveland just made it look and feel like a cartoon.
He'd come through delivering some pretty cool cars but the De Tomaso Pantera was my all time fave.

I considered the E46 M3, but the Jag won out. Still, if I could have just one (older) car, the E46 M3 would be it. I had mine for 7 years.

Since someone already posted my GTO
I'd say that I also got a soft spot for the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish with a manual. DB5 looks nice, but I'd take this.

I'm not sure if I'd call it the most beautiful, but it's certainly my pick for most desirable, with a few tweaks, of course.
After seeing renders like these by Jon Sibal, and people actually recreating them, I think my pick would be one of them. |

I used the car to run back and forth from the Texas Panhandle and Denver Metro. While the car had a number of notable, engineered-in flaws, I was still young enough to ignore them while reveling in the smooth, rheostat-like delivery of its incredible 12-cylinder engine. For the day, it was a terrific GT car. I put 18K on the car and sold it for $500 less than I paid for it two years earlier. Labor was $12/hr. in Texas, so it didn't cost me much at all to own.
