Does not look anywhere near as good as the current m2. Looks like a wider version of m240i. It's a shame- the new m240i has a very nice side profile, arguably nicer than the f87, but the front and rear bumpers are terrible IMO.

Ye they're very similar to the BRZ taillights, but they actually fit with the BRZ rear

I don't know why, but the rear view of the 2-series just reminds me of Sloth

The bad for me:
Those rear lights look terrible, lights should be horizontal or upwards facing not, drooping downward which breaks the lines of the rear.
The reflectors are also terrible, big ugly black things.
Looks like the ball sack is back and bigger than ever, lucky us.
That colour sucks.

The good:
I actually like the overall design of the rear.
It's a beefy looking thing again, looks real squatted and mean.
The exhaust tips look awesome.

Can't wait to see the rest, this really is make or break for BMW. I think the car world has had about enough of their weird shit now, if they fuck this one up then I reckon they will start losing a bit of credit amongst the petrol heads.

At first blush I like what I see. No issues with the taillights as I have a Thundernight G42 on order, which I think the G87 will look fantastic in if it's a color option.

Anybody that thinks this reveal has been long and drawn out probably wasn't around when AG did the strip tease, section by section reveal for the 1 M back in 2010. Now THAT was real agony.

This is going to look wide from the back when we see proper pictures. I think it's going to look good in person.

My wife owns a new m240i, and to me...they did the same mistakes on this that they did on the new m240i. Mixing round with angles. They took the bad on the m240i and kept it then replaced the parts that weren't bad. The taillights are entirely too small. The top of the rear is very round and bubbly especially in person, then they decided to square out the bottom. They did the same on the front. Very round, with tiny headlights. Then added random angular triangles.

I like it, just feels like the tail lights are about 20% too small

The picture makes it seem as if there's a morbidly obese person just sitting on the hood, raising the back end 10 inches.

This has to just be a funny angle.

I know IA is not very large or as well populated as the rest of the US, but I'm sure there are at least one or two good divorce lawyers within the State that will represent you once your wife finds out how you REALLY feel about her car.

Maybe it still has the shipping blocks on it? Rear looks really high but it might be the angle of the pic and sharp number lines.

Haha no she's already trading the M240i. She's moving over to an RS3.

I haven’t consulted with Zultan or squeezed the goat’s testicles yet, but seeing as how this has been a thing for at least the last ~30 or so years… I’m guessing you’ll have some udders

i like it way more than the last M2 rear
more squared off and geometric—the
reflector is quite large though, weird.
