TPMS, FTM, and new winter tire???

After reading wiki about all season tire, being said not as good as summer or winter tire, I decided to remove my stock all season tires and get descent winter tires.

For now, Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 ROF RunFlat seems to be the best for me.

My question is whether I am checking right criteria. - still in vague...

Mine is 2011 328i xDrive with 17" Radial Spoke Alloy Wheels - Style 284, and this is from BMW website:

Tire dimensions (front) 225/45 R 17
Tire dimensions (rear) 225/45 R 17
Wheel dimensions (front) 8 J x 17
Wheel dimensions (rear) 8 J x 17

If I order Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 ROF RunFlat with size 225/45 17", is it correct? or are there more things to check? What is '8 J' means?

and where are TPMS and FTM attached? tire or rim? If it is attached on tire, should I buy a new set of TPMS and FTM?

If I buy one of them, does it fit well with BMW? or can I reuse the one attached on my car now?

Please enlighten me and thank you in advance

225/45/17 works perfectly fine on a 8" wheel.

TPMS is attached to the valve stem of the wheel. FTM works with the ABS system on your vehicle. (No sensors on the wheels like TPMS)

Since you are in Canada you will need TPMS sensors as Canadian 3 series models do not use them.

Did you mean you DO NOT need TPMS because the canadian 3 series doesnt use them? If I am wrong, can you please provide some more detail about this?
