Wheel+Tire+TPMS setup install question?

Probably a noob question, but I couldn't find my answer with .

I just bought a set of 189s+Tires+TPMS off someone on this forum and am looking to install these to replace my 268s. Won't be doing this until March or so since the 189s are Summer Tires, but just wanted to get an idea first.

Since the wheels+tires+tpms are coming off a vehicle, I don't have to worry about mounting or rebalancing, correct?
Can I jack the car up and install the wheels myself - will probably have a shop do it since they have better tools, but just curious?
Would it be recommended I have the vehicle realigned after the new wheels are on?

Thanks for anyone who can chime in here.

Assuming the tires and wheels and TPMS are already mounted together, you just need to jack up your car and put them on and reset your TPMS.

How do you re-set the TPMS?

You use the small nob on the left signal indicator, check your Owners Manual for complete instructions under the Tire Section. Once you done it it's quite simple

Ditto! TPMS can be reset through the instructions on your owners manual.

Thanks for the replies. So in the late winter/early spring, I'll jack up my car and use a torquewrench to remove my 268s and put on the 189s, reset TPMS on iDrive and go from there. Sounds pretty easy to me.

Yes easy it is when you know how and have done it once or twice

Always be safe, there are tons of info on the net so check it if not sure ~s~

Here is just one example for you CLICK

PS. I have the BMW double check my wheel nuts for the right torque setting they do have the best tools. My dealer does it for me at no charge.

Don't use a torque wrench to remove anything, a torque wrench is only for installations.
