E91 335i 6MT for sale

NOW SOLD

Evening all,

I'm posting an ad up but I wont be in a position for viewings for about 10 days or so as it is booked in to get the wheels refurbished and then I am working away for a week. I'm posting the advert so I can send any interested parties plenty of details for consideration.

Registered May 2007, Space grey, M Sport, touring, 6 speed manual N54 335i

I bought it around August 2009, it had 60k on and a few owners, but it never put me off, I’m glad it didnt as its been a brilliant car for me so no point changing, hence keeping it for 13 years. It still had a stretch of the manufacturer warranty on it when I bought it and I have had the BMW extended warranty on it until February this year so lots/all of the usual N54 issues have been sorted; it has been very well looked after. I have a drawer full of receipts for servicing (up until the last service all/full BMW dealer serviced to comply with the warranty conditions; the last oil change was out of the BMW system).

It now has 164k miles but don’t let that put you off, it is still a great drive, and far from a rattly old wobbly bus that some people think anything over 100k is.
I get to drive new BMWs at work and although they are better, they aren’t £35k worth better IMO!

I’m selling as I am moving jobs and the new job wont let me have a car of this vintage on the car allowance (and I cant justify running two). I could also do with a better tow car as Mrs S has got back into riding horses and Mini S really likes horses and trips out with horses. in tow. Ideally, because of the new work car arrangement I'd like mine gone before the turn of the year.

I’ll go through the spec and then as much of the repair history as I can remember, (its been serviced according to the BMW service schedule due to the warranty)

Xenon headlamps
18” standard alloys (I’m get them refurbished before sale) on rainsport tyres all round
Spare 18” wheels with winter tyres on (probably got another winter in the tyres, rims need refurbishing but I don't plan to do this)
M Sport bodywork and suspension pack from factory
Black leather interior (with I think anthracite headlining)
Electric memory seats in the front
Heated front seats
Auto Dim mirrors
Ugly kid glass in the back
Green windscreen sun shade band
Auto headlamps
Auto wipers/rain sensor
Auto lock when driving off
Cruise control with brake function
Rear parking sensors and screen display in the idrive screen
Folding exterior mirrors
I Drive
Pro Sat nav/ iDrive
DAB Radio (as well as usual AM/FM)
Digital Freeview TV
USB interface for music playing from a memory stick (can be done from a phone too with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable)
CD Player
Logic7 speaker system
Bluetooth
Phone cradle prep
Cool box in the centre arm rest
Voice activation
BMW Connected Drive assist (need to pay for that service now though)
Multi function steering wheel
Recovered steering wheel in soft kappa leather (slightly thicker than standard)
Aircon/climate control
Manual transmission (I’m sure you know these are sought after as the tuning potential is very good with the 6MT)
Factory fit electric tow bar (only ever used to tow a motorbike on a trailer)
Lighting pack (pool lights in the footwells and under the door handles)
Storage pack (a few cargo nets in the boot space I think)
Removable roof bars (used once)
Load cover with net dog guard and umbrella holder (one of the clips has broken on the cover but it still works OK, just had to be careful when pulling the load cover out)
Some kind of deal applied paint guard
Fog lights F+R
Folding rear seats
Roof bars (only used once)

I think that is it

Bad bits, a bit of lacquer has come off the paint on the front bumper beneath one of the headlamps
There is a dent in the drivers side A pillar, about the size of a 10p piece
Small chip in the windscreen (still passes an MOT without a mention and has made it through three winters without getting bigger)
Bodywork apart from that mentioned above has some teeny stone chips or blemishes but really good considering the miles.
The rear bumper beneath the tailgate is scuffed from the dogs not being very careful. I’ve told them about it but they never listen, I've covered it with a vinyl strip.
Spare winter wheels need a refurb as they are scruffy.
One of the two keys doesn’t work remotely to lock/unlock. The key will do a manual lock/unlock, and it works fine in the ignition slot, it just doesn’t remotely lock/unlock. The other key works fine.
The passenger side interior door handle pull is a little bit sticky, I think mini S has had something on her hands that has affected the plastic. I never go in that side so keep forgetting to look at it.
The rear washer doesn’t work; the wiper does
One of the lines on the rear de mist matrix doesn’t work.
The load cover/dog guard mesh has one of the clips broken, but it still works fine (see pic gallery).
The offside headlamp main beam is showing as being faulty but works fine. This has only just popped up and I haven't had chance to fault find yet.

I think that is about it for the bad bits, it drives yes really well

Repairs I can recall off the top of my head (loads of receipts) (bear in mind this is 13 years worth of repairs under warranty)
Just had new front pads and discs, rears are less than 10k miles old too
Both turbos
HP and LP fuel pumps
Rocker cover gasket
Oil filter gasket
Possibly sump gasket (don’t hold me to that though)
Injectors
Various bushes
Steering rack
Front ARB drop links
ABS pump block
VANOS actuators
Water pump
Rear Shocks and springs (and some of the bushes)
Radio amplifier
TV amplifier
Diversity module
There could be more, when it needed something, it went in, got fixed under warranty and I paid the £100 excess. I didnt pay too much attention to what they’d replaced.

It's always been a standard car, I feared the warranty may not pay out if I changed/upgraded anything, and 300+ BHP on the road is enough for me. The only non standard things I have done to it are the black grill (F31 style), metal pedals, and the steering wheel slightly smaller/thicker/nappa leather.

The reg is KH07XVZ if you want to do an online check of its MOT history.

Its just been serviced and MOTd (no advisories)

I'm looking for £7.5k including the spare/winter wheels. It's a strong price but there aren't many of these left.

DM me for photos, I took some of the inside today but it got dark before I could wash it, but I have some older ones of the outside. I'll try and upload some onto here in my gallery.

100% would buy, but money/kids/house etc...and I already have an e91.

I'm sure it'll sell fast, but good luck!

I'm sure you need a spare

I bought it when we were expecting my daughter, I mean you need 300+bhp to lug those heavy push chairs around. I've still got it 13 years later, and the daughter.

I've never had a works car before so trawling through all the rules and best options (car allowance v company car v salary sacrifice).

Luckily mine's a 30d, so it doesn't break down I can't think of a car anywhere near its value that I'd replace it with

That's exactly why I kept mine for so long, it's quick enough, nice to drive slow, I normally get a little over 30mpg, the dogs can fit in and it still looks really classy.

Mine has only broken down once in that 13 years, when the water pump went.

Cheers @chappers 71 and yes, I'm hoping to. I've never had a co car before so don't really know how I can still get into a RR under the cc scheme. I guess it will be via the allowance option and me uplifting the costs to what I need, but the max 6 years old stipulation will mean I'm spending a bit more than I'd planned to to get one that I can keep for a couple of years. The uplift in salary should ease that pain.

I've got my eye on a couple but wont be a position to pull the trigger til mid January so not much point looking too hard yet. (I'm also hoping prices will soften a little too)

I'm sure it would but there is a FFRR itch that needs scratching first

Cheers KFC_KID id i've toyed with it over the last few years but work circumstances dictate its time to go. Best car Ive ever had, hence keeping it so long. It still looks great. Hopefully the the FFRR will surpass it.

Pleased that you sold it, hopefully you got what you wanted for it.
Having just had a look on AT (nothing better to do in this cold morning) & prices don't seem to have softened from when I was looking for a RR, with some of them still having not been sold.
Hopefully you'll find one that suits, post up some pics when you do.
I know I'm biased... but you really should have a look & drive of a G31 40ix, link attached to tempt you

That looks really nice Chappers, you wont have a problem finding a buyer. I'm not convinced it is for me though, I cant see it on sites and pulling a horse box on a muddy field.

Btw that's not my G31, just one of the nicer ones currently on AT. I won't be selling the G31 for at least 10 years...all being well.

ah gotcha, looks nice, just not quite what I need at the moment. Mrs S would have one, not sure my budget would stretch to both

Car is now sold, thanks Jon (Sivo) for a smooth transaction, it looked and sounded great as you drove off. Sad to see it go, I'd highly recommend these to anyone thinking of them, fantastic cars.
