Car's going to be down for a while so I'm replacing the reservoir for an aluminum one and converting my power steering hoses to an fittings. Anyone know the quick connect fitting size for the cooler hoses?

I have a 8an to 1/2 sae quick disconnect fitting and wondering if this will work. Also what size lines did you use for the res? Currently I have 10an and 8an ready to install on my custom expansion tank/ps res setup |

I got an aftermarket reservoir and mounted it to the LH shock mount. The OEM line running from the power steering cooler to reservoir will not reach length-wise, you could extend this by getting a 3/8 rubber hose with hose clamps or get a 5/8" hose barb to 10AN adapter (chasebays offers one). With the 5/8" hose barb to 10AN adapter you will need to sand down the OEM hose barb from the cooler and/or the 5/8" end of the adapter very slightly to get it to seal properly with the oring provided. With that being said, the 1/2" to 8AN quick disconnect fitting will NOT work on the upper power steering cooler line leading to the reservoir. Attached a pic and circled what I am referring to. This is for a car with no active steering only, I'm not sure if the line diameter differ on cars with. |
