N55 vs N54 expansion tank size

I've got relocated inlets and the PR coolant relocation brackets. I think they fit the expansion tank crappy, I have bushings in to make it kind of fit and I don't really like it much (there is a zip tie involved of course). When I put it where it "should" fit it hits my BOV. I would do the 335D tank but I would need a new charge pipe for $300 and a $40 tank. I read on the N54tech page that a N55 coolant tank is smaller. Pictures on the web are hard to tell if this is a fix. It's shorter, but not sure if it's smaller from the fender to the engine distance that would allow more clearance. Any truth to this?
