E92 angel eyes and taillights won't illuminate when unlocking?

So I have a 07 335i. My angel eyes and taillights stopped illuminating when unlocking the doors. I brought it to the dealer and was told that this wasn't a feature on the 07 models.
They hooked the computer to my car anyways and said that for sure this isn't and option as it was not found in my car.
Well first of all, totally wrong. My car has done this since day one and after the last update from the dealer this option hasn't worked even though it clearly gives me the option in my cars options. Tonight I was going to my car and BAM! they worked just like they use too, but only 1 time

Has anyone else experienced this before??? And if so what is the fix??? I want this back!

Thanks

I had this disappear too. Right before my battery died on me.

Now with a new battery, it's back.

I'm not saying 100% that is the cause. It could also be a setting in your iDrive that isn't selected anymore. But that's what happened in my case.

Well I did have my battery die, but was replaced under warranty. And as for the option being selected it is. That is why I'm lost. Funny though the other day my car was acting up again like the battery was going bad again, and its only 3 months old. Maybe ill have to bring it back in.....

Try pulling the negative battery terminal for a few minutes, and then putting that back on. It forces the carputer to do a hard reset, and that usually fixes a lot of inexplicable bugs.

No problem, it's just a trick I've picked up over the years, if any sort of electronic device is exhibiting bizarre behavior that starts all of a sudden, then just kill the power and restart.

^^I do this too. Usually goes as follows: something goes haywire, stream of cursing ensues, unplugs battery, curses some more, replugs battery, cursing stops.

this happened to me also, but happened when i switched out the bulbs.

I toggled the DRL option on/off and it fixed it.

The unplugging the battery also seems like it will work too.

So I thought I might bring this back up. Still have not found a fix for this issue. My lights are on auto and the option is selected in my cars settings. I am at wits end.........

They probably didn't code it right after updating. All E92's have welcome lights.

Thank you! I guess I'm going to have to find some local guy to code everything back in. Hopefully this is a really easy fix.

It is funny every blue moon or so they will work. But then obviously stop the next time I unlock the car.

Could be a fuse blew, or like onebadmofo said, coding issue. If you do find a coder just ask them to reset your footwell module back to factory.

Well they do come on when the car is running. Just not while locking and unlocking. Even though this option is selected. So I'm thinking I just need to have that option reset through coding. Fingers crossed.
Now to find someone local.

are you sure you had your batteries replaced or just charged? i think its the batt, had it happen to my friends car too, its on the majority of the time but once in awhile it wont work, one time as soon as he started the car the battery icon showed up on his dash, so he went for a recharge and now, no longer sees the issue. maybe your batts are just running out of juice

I received a new battery in August last year. Everything worked until then.
Before I ran out of warranty I had the dealer look into everything. And they told me that the 2007 e92 didn't have this option because they couldn't find it in the computer.

Its definitely a code thing. Mine stopped doing it, took it to my service guy at the dealership, he plugged it in, coded it, and now back to normal. Took him 10 minutes.
