Cognac is not a very light color like white, grey or beige. I am not too worried about upkeep and definitely going with cognac over the plain looking black. I wish red interior was an option though...

Yip, huge fail to not add the red interior. It looks so nice in White and silver cars. They really need to add more colors, even the m240i has six. A nice silver and blue. This car looks great in bright showy colors cause of its bulging fenders and sculpted styling. Shame they only offer 5 colors.

I wish there was a red interior option as well. Allegedly the take rate for it could not justify offering it.

Individual paint is allegedly coming, but the big the question is when? Another question that has to be asked, will it be limited or will it be the full color palette?

It's the same HK audio system as the G42.

I just hope in the US market it's an à la carte option and not tied to some fluffy $4,000 "Fast & Furious Package" or whatever, as BMW tends to do. 'Cause just for that reason alone I'll completely write off this vehicle as a potential option, on sheer principle.
Well right now, it's à la carte with the M3/4 so hopefully it'll stay that way. I just remember the audio system being quite a bit more immersive than on my '16 M235i. Don't think it has Logic 7 and the 3/4 series platform did at the time. I see on HK's site now that the 2 series does have that, although less wattage and speakers.

I just hope in the US market it's an Ã* la carte option and not tied to some fluffy $4,000 "Fast & Furious Package" or whatever, as BMW tends to do. 'Cause just for that reason alone I'll completely write off this vehicle as a potential option, on sheer principle.

In Canada, the Harman Kardon option is tied to a $3,000 package, so never say never. We'll see what's really good when the official US price guide drops.

I don't have the exact specs but I believe the HK setup is roughly a 400W/14 speaker system, with new, revised hardware and software, so there should be a discernible evolutionary improvement.

I know a lot of people complain about the quality of HK systems in their vehicle but I honestly never had a single grievance with the very many BMWs and Minis, my own and dozen of loaner cars, which had the setup equipped. I believe a lot of people have a bad experience with it is because they are using a lower fidelity source like Bluetooth to stream their music.

If you want the highest possible quality of music, you either have to use a direct source such as a USB cable, CarPlay because it transfers data via WiFi, which is not as compressed as Bluetooth, hence, better audio, or you can go old school and utilize endangered CD player, which is the absolute highest fidelity possible in a source of lossless audio.

Also, a lot of the major music streaming APPs (Spotify, Pandora, ect) set their streaming quality to the lowest fidelity possible by default to save their customers on data and maybe to protect themselves from liability from irate customer over unwitting data usage, thus, a lot of folks are not aware of that their music service is providing the lowest quality of steaming, which by extension is causing the HK system product a quality weak acoustics.

$70k with some options but without carbon buckets. Good thing BMW is saving money by building in Mexico - what would this thing cost if still coming from the Fatherland? Yikes!

I reaaaally want the Cognac interior but the odd mix of a good chunk of black interior in it is making me rethink it. The door cards with the ring of Cognac plus the M colors just looks bad.

The more I started looking at cognac, I began having the same feelings.

agree
The red looks better with the black. Cognac contrast too much with black dash.

I swear, I don't know what you people are railing on about with Cognac.

It's called a two-tone effect. If it's done up like the G42 it will be a nice balance between the black and brown.

Natural brown on the E46 ZHP was fairly similar.

I think TR with Cognac will look stunning.

Man! How I miss the mechanical hand brake. I absolutely hate the e-brake with a pitted purple passion.

One of the few big bummers on the G42

I suspect Cognac will look good with any of exterior colors that are currently in the lineup, including ZB.

I suspect the same. At least NA gives us a 2nd option this time.

if they would have added a nice polished silver wheel option that would have really been sweet.

But all we get is jet black or jet black with bi-color spokes.

Easy choice for me there as the bi-color at least gives the wheel some pop and contrast.

The 893M is tolerable and the bi-color offered for the G87 looks to be the same.

Yes, wheel selection is lacking. Does BMW always offer so little choice for M2? I believe the 240i has six different wheel options. Crazy

This somewhat gives an idea of how ZB would look over Cognac.

I just got back from my dealer and they had one of the newest 2 series on the lot with the cognac interior and I am not as worried as I was before. It is a lot better looking in person and not as 'unpolished', for a lack of better terms, as I feared.

Other markets appear to differ - as for previous models. The interesting bit might be figuring out why they differ...

So, in the UK, much of that comes as standard, with the following exceptions: The CF roof appears to be a fixture, as is CF interior trim, and red brakes. Manual transmission is an extra cost option, the heated steering, wheel, wireless device charging and theft facilitation (aka 'comfort access') are one of just two Packs. The other costs lots, removes the electronic speed limiter, and provides some driver track training that it seems you can buy for about 25% of the price. separately.

Edit: Of course, the above may just be what I can see using Safari, that little known web browser provided by a minor consumer electronics firm...
