I'm not saying to disregard the instructions, but that was a flawed engine. They redline the engines at the factory and B58, B48, etc. normal variants all have no break-in instructions. It's a good guideline, helps people adjust to the car, and gives a psychological benefit to the owner because they think their M engine is more special. Which it is, but the pain of waiting 1200 miles adds to the experience. The way these engines are made regarding material quality, tolerances, etc. makes it incredibly unlikely you will have a problem if you don't adhere to the break-in instructions. The most important part of those instructions are simply changing the oil at 1200.

My old Z4M was revved to 8000 RPM with 17 miles on the odometer by a test driver that got a reckless driving charge. Was pulled over going 120 MPH. That engine was flawless while I owned it and burned no oil, somewhat rare for an S54.

Some of the advisors tell me that the power is 100% available after the break in service and some tell me that power is the same before and after the break in service.

All good now. I’ll play it safe and just keep
Revs down until it’s serviced.

Yeah for a new car I would just take it easy. For some reason, everytime I rush into things, they never work out for me lol. I will be following Tag approach.
