Tastefully Modded G87 in for Service (South Austin)

Nicely put together spec/mods, assuming in for the break-in -- a forum member?

Glad to see the neon pink signage.

What splitter is that? Looks really nice. Looks like something from AutoID? What are people's thoughts of only getting a splitter and spoiler? I have never modded a car before and will want to add some bits on the exterior. Is it OK to just get the splitter and spoiler and call it a day or would that look "incomplete"?

Not trying to offend anyone who has not done an entire kit. Again, just wanting to pick everyone's brain on what they would do.

Not at all. Actually been thinking of going that route. Just a spoiler and splitter. Clean mod. Nothing more

Lip is adro (according to the logo on it... which feels aggressive and I wouldn't ever do but..)

Good to know! As I am new to this sort of thing I do not really know who I would go to to get these installed. I think the less I need to less chance of messing up. I can live with the M Performance spoiler though I wish it went the entire length of the trunk lid but the M Performance splitter is not something I have any interest in due to the wings on the end.

Thanks and I get that. Up to this point I think I am going to go with AutoID or R44 as of now.

If you want the M Performance spoiler design but going the width of the trunk, you should get Unit 17 oem+ spoiler.

Putting on my TRE splitter today. The sides and rear are already low on my car and the only thing missing is a lip. Got a carbon CSL style grill and carbon bumper intakes in the front as well.
It's my take on a GT3 Touring.

The aero components (front splitter, side skirts, rear spoiler, rear diffuser) are designed (or should be) to work together. If you're just adding them for looks, add what you want, but if you were adding them for performance increases at high speed or on track, adding just some of the components could create imbalances.

I made an appointment at South Austin for my alignment that's been off since I took delivery of the vehicle. First they said alignment wasn't covered under warranty. So I pulled up my warranty booklet that clearly states it's covered for 2k miles. Then they questioned the accuracy of the BMW warranty booklet.

Then they said they could only do the alignment that day if I was paying for it. If I wanted them to fix it under warranty I would have to leave my vehicle for at least 3-4 days for them to inspect it, submit a request to BMW for warranty repair & then wait for approval. Needless to say I did not leave my car nor will I be using them for any service in the future.

Yeah, I would only be getting it for appearance purposes. I would not be tracking the car.

All of these parts are for aesthetics. I can guarantee there has been no aero testing on these parts. If any have been some people would really be belly aching about the price.

The car looks nice!

Mine will eventually going a similar route...likely not the same pieces, but will pull the trigger on a lip and trunk spoiler at some point, and we're possibly in the same area.

Nice!

I think he may have been in for service at that store.

When did you get order your car from the north store?

When I asked in November, I was told it was like 16 deep and wouldn't see my car for a very long time.

So I put in my order somewhere else.

Ah gotcha. I actually wound up buying someone’s canceled order. It came in for delivery 2 weeks ago and guy that ordered it couldn’t buy it. So I came next day 😂
