So, after doing all manual 2x F80’s, 1x F87 and 2x G80’s (not flexing, just giving a bit of history behind my preferences), I’m going to grab an inbound G87 that’s coming in next month (Black, manual, sunroof etc).

I posted in the G80 section about selling my 23’ and 24’ G80 but now I’m happy to get into a smaller M.

I really enjoyed a track day last summer with the M2 (auto but still had fun) and since then I felt like the G80 wasn’t for me (also not a fan of the M4).

I was going to wait for a 25’ build but then it would have come in sometime in the fall and then I’d have to store it for winter and only get to enjoy it next year so I figured I’d rather get it now for the spring/summer and enjoy it.

I’m used to the G80 forum but this forum is also pretty informative, just not as many owners here than the M3/4 forum.

Loving everyone’s contributions so far. I’ll be posting pics once it comes in but I’m sure everyone knows what a black G87 looks like at this point 😂.

Now my dealer told me he also has a Brooklyn grey (which I had on G80) also coming in.

I’ve had both colours. Decisions decisions….(I’m lucky!)

I’ll be taking this same route when my M3 lease is up in 2.5 years.

Hoping by then the LCi Comp is out or i’ll just grab a CS .
The current colors just doesn’t do it for me or interior choices if going Buckets (black only mehhh). In essence kinda glad I’m forced to wait

That being said , I also am not a fan of this gen M4 . The elongated side profile is a no go for me. While it does have a fat ass, them hips are sorely lacking

If I’m being frank my past F82 , had the absolute perfect proportions. But the 3 & 4 are getting wayy too big for my taste.

And I’ve always been a coupe guy, so downsizing to the G87 is the natural course of action for me.

The new M2 is downright menacing brute with deadly fenders to match. Especially the rear , love to see it.

Polarizing design , & I’m very surprised BMW actually put those huge hips on this puppy. Something they haven’t really done on their M coupes , past or present. M4, M6, or M8

I'd suggest you get the grey as they seem to be less common.

I have a black one myself.

I highly recommend RED
My interior has the sport seats-not powered with Alcantara seating area.

Good decision… the sooner you get in it the more driving joy… I’ve had my Black MT for a month and absolutely loving it… 5,000km with 2 roads trips and a couple of days on track…. Perfect little daily sports lux car…. Came out of a F-Type R…. Became bored with the auto.

👍🏼

You still happy with black? I’ve had both black and Brooklyn but I might be leaning on Brooklyn again given that I like the contrasting parts of the front and rear bumper more. Still undecided since the black also looks gorgeous (yes fully aware of dirt on black issues).

Yes loving black, it emphasises the muscular silhouette of the car… really suits its muscle car characteristic… for me Brooklyn and all the modern greys of other manufacturers are fad colours… but it’s subjective… this car looks great in all its limited colour options 👍🏼

BSM has that look but I like BG for the reason you said, its a blank palatte. A color that can take almost any color and make it pop (interior, exterior and even under the hood).

Truthfully Audi had Nardo way before everyone else got on the the bandwagon but regardless, I do love it. My G80 I just sold had it and it hid all the dirt which was a nice change over the black I usually get.

Nardo is a great color. I like Toyotas “Cement” as well. These may all seem trendy but maybe they’re here to stay .

I would have preferred a Blue like my STi Lapis Blue Pearl which is one of my favorite colors of all cars, or a darker metallic gray/silver like Skyscraper but BG is still nice 👍 and it def hides dirt

Black looks really menacing and shows off the muscle. Keeping it clean is a pain so there is that trade off too....
