Fob covers?

Does anyone have a nice-looking, well-fitting fob cover? Looking for something to distinguish mine & my wife's fobs. Even though I put them on designated hooks, they don't always end up where they're supposed to be. So I often grab the fob for her vehicle and vice versa.

These dont fit.
M2 Keys are slightly (2mm) bigger than other G gen key fobs
Just got these and they do not fit.

Fits my m340 fob though.

That's ridiculous. Can you take a side by side for kicks? Thanks!

This was news to me. Will find another option. M2 Fob is alot more flimsy than m340 fob.

The main part of the fob seems to be exactly the same. The detachable mechanical key requires the larger two-piece design so that the "frame" part can be detached to reduce the size of the lever on end of the key blade, otherwise it wouldn't have enough space to turn the door lock hidden under the driver's door handle.

Key fob is already too big IMO. Can someone explain the rationale behind installing a cover that makes it even bigger?

Agreed. I don't want to make it bigger, just be able to distinguish it from my wife's fob. Maybe a carbon fiber or different colored snap on cover.

Why not just put something on the back of your fob? Like a tiny label that says M2 or one of those colored dot stickers that are used for crafts would do the trick.

Or a small lanyard/strap, maybe in M colors?

Technically, they are already different. The key edge on the M2 fob is black while on the X3MC it's silver. But if I'm not looking closely or just grabbing one quickly off the hook, sometimes I miss it. Was just hoping there was something easy that would definitively distinguish them at an easy glance.

Have used the form fitting silicone ones from Amazon for years. Blue/black/red. Very durable, grippy, protective, cheap. Would be stretchy enough to accommodate that extra 2 mm also…

I needed to make my M2 and 230xi key fobs different so I would grab the right key fob for the car I wanted to use. And I didn't want to carry both fobs when I went out.

Not sure where I got these (see attached pic) but in my key drawer I found two BMW key fob tags. Leather strap with a logo on it with a split ring. Took the tag off and just put a ring on each 230xi key fob. The ring doesn't make the key fob to any bothersome degree bulkier but it is clear which key fob I pick up which car it belongs to.

'course, the M2 key fobs don't have the ring. Have to think about weight...

I'm going to have to come up with a system. Wife's G05 has the same key...she will be wondering why her car won't open or start and constantly be asking me to change the batteries in the M2 key fob because it doesn't start her X5

Guess it will have to be these - at least they have pink, white, and blue as options as well.

I think I got a couple of those from my BMW sales guy a couple years ago

This is the only one I found to fit it.... I'm not the biggest fan of it personally, but it serves its purpose. It's a nice key case, but a little bulky and I frankly would rather have one that wasn't as 'flashy.' Those custom leather ones look nice.

I like to keep my fobs protected from getting gnarly in my pockets grinding against whatever is in there.
