BMS has a little surprise for us coming out in early December! The BMS N54 oil catch can. They've designed it from the ground up for easy install, good oil/air separation, and most importantly high flow! It's a from the ground up new two piece CNC design with absolutely no welding. The inner diameter on the hosing is > 16.5mm which is larger than the smallest part of the OEM system meaning no flow restriction. It mounts on the cold side of the engine in one of two locations, under the cowl or by the diverter valves. The cowl location features insanely short high flow hoses and keeps it completely out of sight. The DV location allows for easier access and a more visible look. You simply unscrew the base and pour out the contents every few months. The production version is anodized black. The best part is the price. They are targeting an intro price of only$179! This will easily be the be all end all N54 catch can. I'll update this thread with more info as I get it! Here is a video of the prototype: Features a big ~17mm inner diameter throughout to minimize pressure drop: A few installed photos of the cowl location which is the most ideal for performance: Last edited by Mike@N54Tuning.com; 02-25-2014 at 01:50 PM.. |

U own a vehicle that Ferdinand Verbiest first invented...wonder where the idea came from.....why aren't you faithful to the original invention. BMW didn't come out with their car until 245 years later???
Is it possible because other companies came along and made it better....and cheaper.... Why the hating? It is called "competition" and "capitalism."

Ya, I missed the smiley, it is just getting old that every time BMS comes out with something, someone claims they they stole the idea.

I like it! Exactly what everyone was saying would be a great design. Good job in meeting that need, and glad I waited before ordering something else which would have been my 3rd attempt to find a decent solution. This is on the Christmas list.

AWESOME!!! Finally a vendor that steps up that doesnt charge the BMW tax!!! I will be picking up some spacers and this catch can when it comes out. Now.. if BMS can develop its own intercooler and DPs for >400 bucks each then you guys will truly be the FINAL stop for budget N54 modder!!!

LOL...When Dzenno made that thread about CC causing his issues, everyone was selling theirs like crazy! I am glad I held out and this for sure I will get...I love that location.

Looks like a great idea. Biggest test will be to see whether the intake carbon fouling is reduced with any form of oil separator. I sure hope so! Nice looking product.
