I just joined the club of White Powder!!
I found a lot of white powder coming from the air vets. After changing the air filter, still the same. Then i did a search on this forum and I found that:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ming+air+vents The evaporator is faulty and BMW will replace it under new car warranty(in UK). The problem is I just got my car and which is already 5 years old, will BMW replace it for me?? Anyone got the same problem? |

I changed the microfilter. The car is from a second hand car dealer, I did tell them the problem. Then they asked me to bring the car to their auto electrician to check the air con. After doing some test, he said the air con is working well w/o any problem.

Want to see whether any e90 owners got their evaporator replaced by BMW AU. Replaced under warranty or out of warranty?
I just want to know them, OK?

Just called a BMW dealer, the service guy said they never heard about the white powder thing. He suggested to book in and do a test on the air conditioner which will cost $290.
I said to him it is about the evaporator which is confirmed by BMW then he said they have more than 25 years experience, they will find out what the problem is. If it is the evaporator, may cost up to $5k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF. I gave him the VIN number, he did a check on his system finally gave me an estimated 5 hours labour which is more than $1000 already, still have to add the cost of the new evaporator. Where is the best place should i go to fix the problem in Sydney?? help............
