xDrive to RWD conversion

I'm in the process of building an LS. I was hoping to swap it into an e90.
I can't find many cheap RWD e90s in good condition, but there are plenty of good xDrive models.

I know this question has been asked before, but previous posts didn't really give me the answer that I was looking for.

My question is: Could I convert an xDrive model to RWD?
I'm already throwing in a new motor and trans with custom bracketry, so would it be as simple as just tearing everything out except the rear diff?
Is the frame shaped differently from that of a non xDrive model? Like, would I experience spacing issues on an xDrive model that I wouldn't experience on a RWD model?

Thanks in advance!

The transmission tunnel is different, yes. I recommend getting a 2nd parts car if you want to do this swap.

Different enough that I wouldn't be able to fit a T56 transmission?

I'm pretty sure the xdrive has a larger trans tunnel so you should be able to fit anything you were planning to stuff into a rwd into an xdrive. LSe90 has done plenty of swaps on xDrive cars. Just use a rwd front subframe and continue as you were planning to.
