E92 Sport Steering Wheel to M-Sport Steering wheel question

Hey guys,

I just ordered one of the M-sport Steering wheel for my e92

I ordered this,

and this one is what i have right now,

Name: 2007-BMW-335i-Coupe-Steering-Wheel-and-Dials-1280x960.jpg
Views: 39065
Size: 325.1 KB

And i just wanted to make sure, that i can transfer my airbag into new one, and just do plug and play on the rest of the part..

Is that correct?

Thanks!

Yes, that is correct, everything switches over, I did the same thing a few months ago, takes less than a hour to swap out, just remember to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to avoid the airbag going off.

I'm not a DIY guy... called in couple of places and installation will be around 120 bucks.

Plug and play. Take your time and do it right or bring it to my house this weekend.
I just did this 2 months ago, straight forward. Read a few DIY on here.

It seems you ordered the M3 Steering Wheel though (not the M-Sport), nonetheless you shouldn't have a problem with the airbag at all. Nice upgrade!

I wouldn't pay 120 for something as easy as this... If you want to take a trip to Orlando I can help you out, all I ask you to bring would be a 12 pack lol

Haha Either way, the 120 bucks was from the precision sport industry, which is located in Orlando.

What are the differences between the two steering wheels? I feel like you could've just swapped out the steering wheel trim.

The M-Sport is a thicker wheel and has perforated leather, it feels 10x's nicer than the stock sport wheel

M-Sport VS the M3
You can tell the difference by the color stitching of the M3 vs the Perforated Leather on the M-Sport. Also the ///M Logo is indented on the M3.
Both look great IMO
