Just about to do a run in oil service, I’m switching from 0-20w to 0-30w which are both listed in the G42 handbook as approved viscosities.

The only 2 BMW Longlife-12 FE oils I can find on Opie are the below.

Any opinions on which is better? Motul or Fuchs?

JK I used Liqui-Moly 0w20 for my first and am planning to switch to 0w30.

Are you going to switch to the Fuchs in the above link?

Am I right in thinking the 0w-30 will offer similar cold start protection as 0w-20 but also give better protection at higher temps?

No, as of now I'm sticking with LiquiMoly. I'm going to use the variant that is approved for B58's in other models.
