So just finished tracking my M240i at Homestead International Speedway. I'll get into my thoughts about the driving dynamics of the car in this thread.

Firstly, I purchased two 6-lap runs on the speedway's oval. There's a pace car up front to ensure safety and you can't pass it. You can, however, pass the other racers.

First 6-Lap (First Photo): Started up front and though I couldn't go fast cause of the pace car (top speed was 106mph), it felt amazing. Absolutely amazing. The turns were fantastic. The xDrive helps so much. For the record, this is in Sport+ with *DSC on*. I felt the car was much faster & more stable on the turns with DSC on than off.

Second 6-lap (Second & Third Photo): Started as the last car and I ended up working my way up all the way to the beginning of the line. I was able to take corners at 120mph because of the LSD and xDrive. The LSD helps A LOT. Kept my car perfectly stable in each turn. I was racing against Cameros, Porsche 911s, Mustangs, 340s, and more. Ended up with a 137mph top speed that run (though my car can go faster).

Overall, the M240i exceeded my expectations on the track and can easily pass modified cars as stock. I recorded the sessions on my M Laptimer but I can't export the videos sadly. But I can share these images. Can't wait to start modifying it in the future!

Do you have any past track experience, especially where you use brakes and turn right? Passing modified cars in a stock car with everyone stuck behind a pace car is not much different than passing morning commuters on the interstate.

Nope first time on the track. Yeah there was a pace car but since I was at the back the second 6-lap, I was able to go much faster unrestricted. So full throttle, passing, swirling, etc. What got people was the turning. Not too many people were able to do high-speed turns like me. Still very fun and got to see the capabilities of this car

Did you read the part about cornering at 120mph??

OP, congrats, sounds like a great time. Curious how much it cost?

The car's MSRP is around $56,000 and after taxes, title, and delivery it came out to an out-of-pocket cost of $62,000. Considering it's capabilities, I payed a good price for what I got in return

Pretty sure they were asking how much the track time cost.

Oh sorry my bad. The 6-lap was $44 and I got the second 6-lap for free. The 3-lap was $20 something and the 10-lap was $60 something. The event was called Give Back to the Track.

I am going to be taking my M240i to the track for the first time (first time for me too), more of an autocross track.

My question for you is: what were your 'settings'?
I presume you had it in Sport+ mode. Did you turn off DSC and all the safety features? How about Dynamic Traction Control?

Thanks in advance.

So I ended up doing Sport+ and Sport Automatic with traction control completely on. I found that I was much more stable with it on and I could take turns much faster. Now if the track you're doing is windy and you're a bit more experienced, then you can turn traction control off so that you can slide, drift, and etc. But on an oval track like Homestead, it's best to keep it on.

Yes.
Yeah I was able to do it. It was mostly due to traction, grip, and my rear LSD.
