Anyone know if this can be added after the fact or only factory? The light screen looks the same so I'm thinking it may be a software thing.

It's not a software thing afaik since you can still see the M stripes when the lights are off, it is probably painted on. I can't seem to find the part # for the individual panel so I think you may have to replace the entire door card?

The door cards are the same in regards to ambient lighting, correct? The only difference is M paint?

They are illuminated as well just like the regular ambient lighting so I'm curious if it's an add on. You can see the ambient lighting during the day with standard colors as well. The guy at BMW seems to think it's a software install, but I wanted to know if anyone on the forums has done it.

M paint and I believe only certain ambient colors work, not all of them (from what I read).

I had just found the same one, guessing the 51415A01102 is the opposite side, though no descrption on the part for M Accent
