Orchards (Apple or other fruits) in Maryland?
I'm reaching out to native Marylanders for help. When I used to live in New York, I would frequent the Apple Orchards in upstate New York to spend the whole day apple-picking, and other fun shenanigans. However, ever since I moved to Maryland, I have not heard of any of these big apple orchards where we can do our own apple picking.
Does anyone have any experience with local Apple Orchards (or possibly other fruits) where my girlfriend and I can spend the whole day picking fruits? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! |

Thanks for all your help, guys. Sounds like Baughers, Larriland, Butcher's, and Catoctin Mountain Orchard are the places to check out.
I'm not looking for an apple orchard where they have apples picked already. Instead, I want to be more hands-on, get my hands dirty, and pick my own apples. I'll be sure to check these places out. I believe it's apple season right now, so if I go one of these weekends, I'll be sure to post pictures. Again, thanks for the heads up fellas! |

Went to Larriland farm this weekend, and it was a blast. Great food -- excellent turkey legs, BBQ Sundae (pulled pork, corn bread, fried pickle), sweet potato fries, and apple fritters. I ended up picking apples, cabbage, and broccoli...
I'll surely be going back for some pumpkins. Thanks guys for the suggestions, I'll be sure to try out the other places as well |
