The Valvetronic controller is not connected to the car at all besides for the power. there is no communication between the cars ecu and the exhaust valves. The settings are either Open or closed, there is no in-between.

In that scenario you just described there would be the same frequency of burbles but the exhaust will be closed so they will be quieter.

Will this work with m240i/G42 which is similar chassis? Or create one for that model.
Thanks for any info.

Idk if this was ever answered but I would think so, I’m looking into getting a G8X ApexBuild Catted DP and Valvetronic titanium exhaust if so. Valvetronic Designs, can you confirm the DP for a G80/82 bolts onto a G87 exhaust the same?

Good evening,
They will fit. the Apex downpipes have the same fitment characteristics as the OEM downpipes so you will not have any issues. this will be a great sounding setup 🤘

I don't know if it's the setting, but the M3/M4 Valvetronic exhaust sounds perfect IMO and wish it didn't have as much pops and bangs. It almost sounds like a Nissan GTR. If we could get this exact sound from the M2, I'd totally buy it ASAP.

So the site seems to allow you to choose the midpipe, axle back or the full exhaust for the G87 but don't see the option for just mid and dp? Just wondering if in a different area or is it something not able to select yet?

And I already have 200cell catted downpipes for the knockout combo.

Excited to hear this!

I’m currently debating just a mid pipe or the full exhaust (not incl downpipes)

I’ll eagerly await your opinion!

I like my car 5 blocks away loud, but not 15 blocks away loud so I think mid pipe + high flow 300CEL cats should be perfect but..

... I'll know for sure and report back by the end of the week!

Coming from a v-8 with long tubes looking for a middle ground on the G87. Thinking of going a similar route as well to get there.

Equal length on a twin turbo 6 gives a similar beat to a V8 as it splits the banks into 2 banks of 3 similar to 2 banks of 4 like a V8..

... At least to my ears. And that's why I have equal length on my GTRs and am going equal length on the G87.

The EL mid vids I've heard even with stock axle back and dp do sound pretty damn good and you're right do sound closer to a higher reving 8 like the Coyote.

Ok I got the Valvetronic Equal length midpipe installed, nice but of kit, quality welds and product, smooth install with a few minor details..

Was a nice surprise to receive a new brace plate to accommodate the deeper pipe! Nice work VT.

Install, review and soundclips coming soon for now here's a sneak peek of the kit and what's in the box

The saying does hold true, If you aren't first, you are last

We are very proud to have already fitted our prototype G87 M2 mid-pipe and begun sound testing. As you can tell from the video, the car sounds phenomenal. Pops and cracks with the exhaust unrestricted are extremely aggressive and overall volume is improved drastically.

The design of the mid-pipe is similar to our G80 M3 mid-pipe, but there are some incongruities under the car that make exhausts different.

More information coming soon, for now, enjoy the sound!

https://youtu.be/fI3tdsZ3t7c
Do you guys make this exhaust in a resonated version, and if NO are you guys looking to do one in the near future?

Got the midpipe installed today, it sounds amazing and is an insane improvement over stock.

One thing to note is the tech that did the install said he was really disappointed in the quality of the clamps compared to BMWs, and that he wouldn’t be surprised if I see an exhaust leak in the future. Fingers crossed I guess

Follow up for anyone still reading, I asked valvetronic about this and they said they haven’t hear of anyone having issues. They also recommended retightening after a couple hundred miles
