Amazon now makes TV's
Amazon now sells their own brand of TV's - and the price point, and features are amazing!
For $829 you can get a 65" 4K OLED TV - this seems like an awesome deal-

I know what I'm getting myself for Xmas now lol.
About time to retire my 50" to the bedroom.

Not a bad value but there would definitely be tradeoffs that come with that price. I'd be concerned with Alexa constantly spying/listening and Amazon pushing ads. I'd much prefer a quality "dumb" display that I could connect to my media devices with no "smart" features or built in streaming devices that perform poorly when new and only get progressively worse with time or falling prey to Amazon's planned obsolescence.

Don't know - pretty happy with my LG OLED from a couple years back. Don't see myself replacing it any time soon.
Crazy prices though...since mine ran over $4.5K. I'd need to see a side by side...

Netflix and chill with Alexa watching? I'll take a dumb display, please.....

To clarify. They don't make a TV in the pure sense. There are only a handful of manufacturers that actually make their own "glass". Many of the other manufacturers commission the ones that do to make the panels for their TVs. They may use their own electronics driving the panel or their own custom software loads.
But I can pretty much guarantee that Amazon has not built out their own production plants making these panels. They've teamed up with another manufacturer. Speculation has it as possibly being TCL. |

Amazon is probably one the most vertically integrated companies in existence...they have their own planes, trucks, hardware (Kindles and now TV's, Alexa's, etc.)
Big picture they want ALL of our money...

I wouldn’t buy it if it was $50. That’s how much I hate Amazon. Worst company I’ve ever dealt with in my life.

Amazon has long collaborated with other brands, such as Toshiba and Insignia, to provide Fire TV Edition sets that use Amazon's own smart TV platform https://homienjoy.com/.

They don’t appear to be OLED, in fact the look like low end LCD probably without local dimming. If this is the case I’d recommend passing for sure.
Current generation LG & Sony OLED’s look amazing. Finally replaced the last of our 12 year old Plasmas with a Sony 83” OLED and it looks spectacular. Should have custom millwork bezel to trim things out soon.
