2010 BMW CiC Navigation
Hello,
I recently bought a used 2010 E92 with Navigation Professional on it. Unfortunately, the salesperson informed me that the car does not come with a Navi disc. So, I bought one on eBay, titled “2015, Final Version”. It’s two disc with one western and one eastern. I tried both in the system and it still keeps the navigation option greyed out. I’m now discovering these MYs don’t even use discs. Is this true? If so, how do I fix the Navigation option being greyed out? Many thanks |

If Nav is greyed out, there could be a couple of different issues causing it: - dead hard disk - the unit was replaced with one from a different car, and nav is thus disabled Can you hear the hard disk spinning? In the CD/Multimedia menu, do you have the option to play music from the hard disk? |

If the hard driver was bad, the screen would not load anything.
That DVD you bought was for a pre 2009 CCC nav. You have a CIC. Most likely your I-drive was replaced with one from another car and the vin does not match which disables the nav. A couple of options are.... activate the nav with CIC patcher. Google it. It is not easy. Or add an aftermarket CarPlay/android auto system which is much better nav, music and makes it very easy to add a backup camera. https://www.mr12volt.com/products/p2...42650148929789 |

Actually if the hard drive is dead or removed the screen does work as do many functions.
CIC boots from flash memory and uses the HDD for larger items like maps, radio buffers, music, etc. That said a donated CIC is entirely possible. |
