N55 Wastegate rattle-anyone else with N55?
Anyone with the N55, does your wastegate rattle really bad on cold starts and at random times? Mine does, and it is super annoying.

Sucks to hear, can you take a video of the sound you are hearing?

Maybe BMW should've just kept refining the N54 and release an N54TU (though I don't think they use the "TU" anymore). And I'm not talking about slapping on a BMW Performance Kit with an overboost function to the current N54.

TrackRAt: "The N55 engine uses the same 943 HPFP as the N54 engines. This has been documented. The latest N54/N55 replacement HPFP is a re-manufactured HPFP under P.N. 1351-7-613-933. The 943 HPFP is no longer avilable thru the BMW parts system in the U.S. The 933 re-man HPFP is all that is available" As for the OP, i hope you can get that video, i am interested to see if its really wastegate rattle so early on... I would either way dealer it and see what they say, but would love to hear it as your the first. |

I've only had mine for about a week and 300 miles, but no rattles so far. I have been pleasantly surprised by how fast and smooth the new engine is. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the new N55s are faster than the stock N54s...

That's just wishful thinking plus you have a N55 engine so ofcourse your going to say that . IMO I think the N54 will be much superior to the N55 but that's because I have a N54!!!!!!

I don't believe the HPFP is the same in the N55. This would mean that the failure is caused by other things like too much pressure, dirty gas, etc.
