Yes.

In the Corvette, the screens are separate and the dash is integrated into the design and "not" a bolt-on afterthought that can also be used on SUVs or any other Chevy model. The layout is “unique” to the Corvette making it feel unique and "special" to Corvette owners.

Chevy/GM could have put a Malibu 2-screen dash layout in the Corvette to save money. How special would a Corvette owner feel if his Corvette had the exact same dash layout as in a Chevy Malibu?

Also, in 3 out of the 4 custom modes shown, a “large”, “dial-like gage” is shone “right in the center”, right where it should be. It appears to be a tachometer or speedometer depending on what mode is selected. From what is shone, only in track mode does the dial gage disappear and is replaced with large numbers.

I'll take the Corvette's, integrated, 2-screen, dash layout and configurable dial-like gages over BMW's ID8 any day.

Considering the 2-series in BMW's "entry" line (at least in NA), there should be some expectation to cost cutting. I suppose M4 owners may have a gripe, or if this were to make it's way into the 8-series...but considering the c8 is "the" halo car for Chevrolet, everything should be special about it.

BMW M3’s are getting ID8. The long screen bolted-on the dash and ID8 and the loss of buttons and the loss of the gear shifter will eventually make its way across most, if not all, models – even the high-end, ultra-performance M-cars.

With iD8, BMW will keep on developing and improving the software in that time period and make it more mature.

And if they listen to customer feedback, they can add more climate control shortcuts (fan speed, air vent configuration, seat warming, etc) to the bottom of the screen than just temperature and the climate control menu shortcut and that should address 90% of the complaints about the iD8 climate control.
ID7 is still fairly new and being installed in most BMW's including their most expensive models - support and updates aren't going away anytime soon.

Per Tech Crunch's interview with Frank Weber, BMW's Head of ID Development:

"As for current cars with the iDrive 7, Weber noted that those cars will get some of the features from iDrive 8 that can be ported back to it — and iDrive 7 will continue to get updates as well.

'It's a little bit like in the smartphone world," Weber said. "All the things — and the good and interesting new things from iD8 that can be transferred to iD7, iD7 we'll get those upgrades. But like a particular function on a phone, not all of them can be transferred back to the previous generation. So most of it can be transferred, but not all of them. But certainly, we will continue to work on updating the previous generation. We won't stop that.'"

Since someone here earlier compared this to Iphones - the iPhone 6S through the iPhone 13 still gets iOS 15.x updates. When iOS 16 launches it will still be compatible with the iPhone 8 through current gen. Im not the least bit concerned with ID7's future support.
