Indeed.

I'm a sunroof kind of guy but the new M Performance wheels are interesting and not just a cosmetic but a mechanical upgrade.

BMW copied BBS' FI-R popular wheel design, where they milled out chunks of openings in the wheel spokes to reduce weight, without having to decrease the overall circumference of the wheel.

So, those wheels are extremely lite for a 20 inch size spinners, roughly 17lbs, yet are forged, so also strong AF. Best of both worlds, so to speak.
I do like those wheels. Here come the add-ons!
Pre-pandemic BBS' FI-R went for about $10,000 for a set, expect the BMW version to retail for about 6 to 7k without tires.. Ouch.. An expensive proposition but if you could swing it, it is certainly a sweet option that would add to the aesthetics and performance..
Spend it if you got it!

It seems bigger now that you can see the relative scale with the people next to it.

How long until we see the M2C? Potentially silly question.

Without giving up any of your sources, I'd love to hear what people thought who actually saw the car in person, especially if they saw the leaked pics ahead of time.

If the base is available with both manual and auto, honestly comp could be saved for LCI.

Even this little sneak peak looks 10x better than what has been leaked so far
That's called……higher resolution.

I like the way you think. This was what came to my mind as well. I'm totally fine with the 90's GTR styling.

Those are the Frozen Gunmetal Grey 963M. I paid about $6500 for a set with tires. They are lighter (7-8 lbs per set) than the Stock 825M and 826M and easier to keep clean.

Wheels

Not sure how those classic wheels will look on G series cars. The newer wheels seem to fit the G series design aesthetic. Classic BMWs BBS all day.

Assuming this price is accurate and using the Germany price of 85800€ for G80 as a ratio for conversion, US price of G87 would start at $61.9k plus destination for a base price of $63k or so.

Using Germany price of 89,900 for base G82(+23.5% premium), US msrp of G87 would be $60,500. Range between $61,495 - $62,745(including $995 dest), depending on whether you use G80 or G82 delta.

BMW, like Mercedes, is trying to push back up market. Easiest way for them to do that is to slide and dice and exploit M cars and the M brand.

Want colored mirrors and side grills/vents? Buy the Comp in a year or two.
