I couldn't agree more. The car wrapped in the banner of the G87 forum looks so much better.

Nice looking 2002 Subaru STI 2 door coupe. That front bumper, jeez... Retro is only cool when it's actually old.

BMW "leaked" pics never look great and always leave a lot in the tank for the official reveal.

Watch Shmee150's walkaround of the camo'ed car. He brings the camera much closer to the car, giving a far better idea of how the car will look in true 3D. The rear is far from a disaster, and the side front air dams are more aggressive than they appear in these leaked shots. You can also see the fender flares much better.

I predict the change in sentiment post-launch and after they're in showrooms will be dramatic.

You would think the disdain would allow 'em to move on. Forget about this cheap car. Go get that Porsche.

Is the general consensus that this will not have a comp model? IE, M2 straight to CS/L?

I think we're being mugged. At release they will pull this ugly shell off and reveal the real car. WATCH THIS SPACE!

Is that what you’re going to tell yourself if you buy it? Not really a great endorsement for the investment. Why would anyone choose this body style over the current gen? It’s not that appealing. Better than the G80/82, but that wasn’t very hard to do.

Remember the rear bumper of the current m3- it was leaked in red and we all had massive hissy fits.

Controversy will always carry cache - I think you will be proven right. Save this post.

Sorry, but I haven't seen a BMW design in recent years that's actually turned out well, apart from the M5 and M8. Pains me. I wanted to love the next M2.

Every time Porsche launch a new car I immediately want one. BMW M… I have to justify it/look for the good bits.
I still haven't wanted an m3 with the huge grill.

I thought I wanted the new m2 until I saw it.

The second I saw the 997 Carrera in 2006- I knew I loved the design.

Nope because I'm not in the market. I'm just saying it's not as offensive as most people on here are saying.
