I compared this a few days ago to the difference between the Z3 and the Z4 - going from a stunning, but shapely, flowing design to something a bit more aggressive and angular.
Having seen the F and the G, do you think that's a decent comparison? Great write up, by the way. |

perhaps ambient lighting, merino trims on carbon bucket seats (i could be wrong on the standard M2 not having merino though), additional leather trim on doors, power bump etc. The only thing outside of those upgrades i can see for M2C would be x-drive - lets see if that happens too

It makes more sense in person - especially due to the exhaust trim finisher looking normal in person vs the leaks.
If you look at this image - it does not look as pronounced as this in person. The design element with the arrows is the part of the rear end i find is polarising. as the body work goes 3 different ways in that area. You can also see how they had to make that rear relfector beefier than the actual reflector to fit the sensor in.

I think Red with 826 wheels silver will be pleasing and fun here for me in Germany. Cognac interior. The last M2 2017 model was interior with Black. I do miss the Long Beach Blue color. No matter of the past M2 this new one should be a superb drive. Enjoy your new M3 upon arrival HiFi - |

Toronto red will be great on this car IMO - and no matter peoples opinion on looks, the sheer capability and limits of the car will be another level to the base and comp F87. Sheer grip alone with the M3/M4 wheel and tyre package.

Thanks for the update!! But I didn't get the impression of much enthusiasm like when people were seeing its predecessor…. I think everyone just has to see this thing in person before passing judgment. But I'm still leaning towards keeping the F87…

That i dont know - it does look like AU pre production model as it was RHD, had carbon roof, and had what looked to be a pre prod VIN plaquard . If it is, then i expect it will be around at select dealers in Melbourne over the coming months.

The weight is a pleasant surprise. MT will be an option too.
Just gotta get it in a a better shade of blue like Portimao and we set. I agree this baby blue is unflattering.

What did you think of these two areas on the rear bumper? The areas that are circled look like 90 degree angles. Am I seeing that right? Also, how do these areas where the arrows are pointing look? They seem to hang really low and look odd. |

I noticed that about the sensors in the leaked images, seemed incredibly poor and I assumed it was just prototype phase.

The sections where you have the arrows are not as pronnounced in person and look better - looking at this again now the rear diffuser looks slightly different on the finished car. that could be contributing.

the front ones also overhang in the front side pods - wont be very noticable but strange design decision.
