I was just going to say "what if he comes out singing its praises and calls it better than the CS?"

The meltdown will be glorious.

It's probably worth mentioning that the G87 still has yet to be launched in the UK and large swathes of Europe but I also appreciate that the internet is now full of reviews from the US.

You know what, I also wouldn't mind if Chris liked the F87CS more than the base G87. It's a CS for pete's sake, there would be no shame if a base model car was inferior.

If he says the G87 objectively performs better on pure track metrics only, I think it would be alright. Mild grumbling.

If he says the G87 is a better driver's car or a better driving experience, the forum will have a meltdown.

If he says the G87 LOOKS BETTER, the world is gonna explode. lol.

Yep in the UK it gets launched on 17th June but it's crazy that BMW UK is insisting the car is kept under wraps until then given how much coverage we've seen from the US.

Source?
Why would BMW invite UK reviewers if the car was not to be launched there?

What you say isn’t true, that all reviewers are from the US.

Well, they did fly a few UK/EU reviewers to Arizona for the US press launch. CarWow being the biggest.

It's not a stretch for me to believe that one or more may be influenced in their decision based on what this guy has to say.
Only to find out the auto bears no resemblance of F87's DCT and sell their cars again. At least MT, when broken-in, gives you the taste of the multi-plate clutch feel.

Yep I've seen all the videos. The situation is a strange one here given the car is essentially under wraps until next weekend even though we've seen hundreds of hours of YouTube footage and thousands of photos.

It makes me laugh that anyone would be upset that the "new" model is better in one way or another.

For perspective the outgoing car M2c traps 115-116 and skidpad is over a G. The M2cs is 119-120 and perhaps slightly more grip. These cars are hilariously fun cars to drive and extremely capable cars.

Any "mature" man should be able to enjoy their F87 M2 (all varients) for what it is (which is awesome), and applaud its successor.

Based on what other reviewers are saying about G87 being more refined, more muted, less raw, less character, I can't see Chris Harris liking it more than the F87. He was one of the few who loved the F80 when it came out because he loves to slide and hoon while most others found it too spiky and unruly. He preferred the 1M to the F87 and G87 is another big step away from that end of the performance/comfort spectrum.
